howdy, just had my car in at sunshine ford for a 60k service. They did all the normal crap that costs a poo load, and I ended up getting the power steering flushed and fuel system/ injectors cleaned aswell. (runs alot better now)

but anyway, I got the car back and took it for a drive and noticed that now the car shifts higher in the rev range under full throttle. The car consistantly revs to 5900 through changes, I though it was a bit high?

what do you guys think? was there a new PCM update? or is it a problem?

Cheers

The ZF/ECU combo will shift at different rpms, depending on a variety of factors.

Check out the owner's manual, it has some interesting info on this.

Also check out this link for the section about Transient RPM limit. See if you can get it to go to 6250 ;-)

Just means that the transmission has learnt to shift differently since it was sent in for its service as it learns to adapt to the way its been driven.

So In short Your Ford dealer apprentices have possibly thrashed the sh*t out of it whilst they had it!!! hence the shift points being different now.

Take a look at your fuel consumption and I bet it shot up also since the service.

Happens all the time but you will have a hard time proving it unless you write down the speedo reading when you dropped it off including Fuel consumption data etc so as the back up your thoughts. :bye:

So basically that saying if we leave in Manual mode and give it a flogging it's going to learn how to do that?

that sounds like the ticket. the fuel usage did go up a little.

Cheers :)
