Hi all,

Getting some mods to my Bf N/A xr6 in near future, wondering if any other N/A owners have upgraded to a larger throttle body and if they have noticed a significant increase in performance? SS inductions have a 75mm option and its ''supposed'' to give an 8rwkw increase and even more if used with a CAI? Results or opinions appreciated :thumbsup:

Thanks guys,

romano

yeah, I haven't done it personally..

But I certainly wouldn't recommend this as one of your first mods, wait until you have done everything you can think of, and then consider the TB, bacuse it wont make much of a difference on it's own, and the money will be MUCH better spent elsewhere

@micah,

yeah that's the one mate ive already got the growler CAI had it for few months now, but yeah that's the same throttle body I was lookin at. but for the $750 retail seems a bit much for the minimal gain. . . with the growler induction, I dont see why they dont use something like the big mouth intake in the growler setup instead of usin the stock one . . probably just so they can charge you extra haha :crybaby:

They don't do too much for our N/A cars. I've got one on my BF. I went ahead and ported the mouth of the manifold to the size of the T/B because the mouth is smaller which would create alot of turbulence before the air got into the manifold. And I haven't noticed any improvement since changing the T/B over. Maybe when I get the tune done with installation of my Crow Stage 2 cams there could be some mild improvement with the larger T/B.

I have the SS inductions throttle body on my ute.. I didnt notice anything... I also bought the SS inductions intake, a underdriver balancer, ford flasher... then later on I bought the SS inductions Growler (I noticed more from the growler).. I then reinstalled the SS inductions intake and joined it up to the growler with a custom pipe (for more air)...

but I personally reckon extractors, exhaust and growler is what you would notice the most.... I finally gave up on the N/A idea and have just purchased a CAPA Supercharger kit lol

I would honestly advise you think about it... because if you decide to turbo or supercharge it later on.. you would have wasted all the money on the intakes, extractors and exhaust (cause you may need to buy a bigger exhaust again to get the most power out of it)

lol

I havent installed it yet, its the CAPA Supercharger kit (non intercooled version)

Rated at 305 kw (227 rwkw)

I decided to get it after I ran into a dog (just finished installing my radiator, thermofan, powersteering cooler, condenser and bracket) :bum:
