My dealer told me to come in and ask about sat nav when it's time for a service as it would be cheaper then optioning from the factory. In the mean time I have a suction cap phone holder thing and my phone has the TomTom Navigator 7 application on it. Works a treat.

In all honesty.. unless the factory unit is fast and easy to use I wouldn't bother with it. Just get a portable unit or download a GPS application for your phone and use that.

I just bought the Garmin 265w from JB for $328.

Great unit with all you need. It is stuck to the panel above the ICC.

The FG system uses a SD card rather than a CD and is mounted under the dash/behind the glove box.

Not sure how easy it is to retro-fit though sorry.

Need to update to Ver 16 maps for my Satnav (FGXR6T), Looked behind glove box under dash, all I could find was the fan motor & filter for the ac & no sign of any modules with SD Cards. (Dealer will upgrade for free as the car is Nov 09 build, but I'd like to know where the module is). Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

I found mine underneath the passenger seat. Move the seat all the way to the back and you can see it. Not sure if this is the standard placement for the SatNav module. Need to update mine to Ver 16 too but I'm not gonna fork out big $$$ for it.

Sorry FGXR270...missed that post. If you're still waiting the factory installed position is on the left-hand side of the footweel, in behind the glove box - or if you imagine a passenger's normal seating position it would be directly above their left ankle. You need to be a bit of a contortionist to get to it.
