:roflmbo: Dont hold your breath. I informed HO one of their dealerships was defrauding them (yes I had ample proof) yet they decided to do nothing about it. :censored: Fraud doesn't give a crap about their customers. if they did they would make these dealerships more accountable.

Personal experience I guess. I had an issue where the radiator failed and trans oil mixed with coolant. The dealer just wanted to change the radiator. I spoke to the manager of the firm that owns the dealerships here and the next day I got a new trans. My wifes 6 month old V6 family sedan, built here in Adelaide, has been nothing but a headache, and the manufacturer tells us its a dealer problem and wont get involved.

I can honestly say I have had no problems with my dealership.. Mind you, I have had minor gripes with my FG Turbo ute (inner front plastic guard flapping at speed, clutch pedal spring needed resetting, the rear tub shifting, clunking noise in the back etc etc). Everything fixed, no probs. In saying that I have never been a fan of dealerships and have always gone to good performance shops in the past. Will look at Bayside Performance at Cleveland Qld, or Elite to do my 15k service. I took mine to Q Ford Springwood. No Complaints...

I have absolutely no faith what so ever in Fords capabilities in servicing or fault finding, but in saying that... if you can find a Ford service with at least one employee who has their head screwed on you may be safe

About 3.5 years ago ford told me it would cost $580 for a 90,000k service on my 2003 BA XR6 N/A... Needless to say I took it to Ultra Tune (keeping my warranty) for $180 for the same servfice. How do you justify the extra $400???

Since that day I have always serviced my cars myself, its not hard to drop oil and do some checks, clean the air filter (K&N) etc. I can usually put expensive oil in, change the oil filter, clean the air filter all for under $100 - This is on my 07 BF XR6T

AND this way you know it has been done right :makedeal: it only takes me 30mins, and about 2 hours for the air filter to dry, then spray fresh K&N oil on it and its all back to new.

If you are worried about loosing you warranty, maybe you have a friend who is a mechanic, maybe this friend works at Ford or a Ford credited service provider, maybe this friend will stamp your book for a carton of beer

And if you don't already know how to service your car but you are mechanically minded maybe you should pay more attention to the How To's in this forum... :spoton:

So yet again the car sits in the garage with a flat battery while I'm stuck at home, ment to be elsewhere. Over the last few days 3 messages left with ford service to call me and 1 email to ford national and no-one at ford seems to want to talk to me...

that's just not good enough. I cant believe the amount of crap service complaints ford get. heres a company that kept its head above water with the release of the ba, only to turn people off wanting one due to fears of there service reputation. wake up ford!

I guess your always going to get Ford bashing on a Ford Forum, same as any particular make related forums. As for poor warranty service. I have had a look at a lot of the complaints in this forum and its not surprising how many dissatisfied owners that want warranty service have modded cars. I would not give warranty support to a car that has had its power boosted from manufacturers specs, and I dont expect the dealers to give me warranty support for mine though sometimes they wont come straight out and say that's the problem.

Are they blaming the sunroof or just not even looking at it?

No power mods here mate... Just a car that won't start.

No tab they arn't blaming anything cause they can't find anything wrong electrically, never confirmed a current draw, just disconnected/broke stuff. I don't think they could find their ass with a map! I've had someone else have a look at the sunroof and they've broken the sunroof switch while trying to pull it apart. The sunroof guy will be out next week to fix that... Along the lines of not finding anything, on the weekend I had a look and took me about 10 minutes to find and fix the rattle I was complaining about.

Am I being to precious? should I just fix these things myself?

I ended up calling ford customer assistance today and talking to someone nice but not much help, they can't get any reply from the service department either, it appears that they're just ignoring all calls in relation to my complaint. I've left 3 messages today and receptionist offered to put me through to their manager... that rang out and hungup on me :verysad: But as I was told there is nothing ford can do as dealerships are privately owned.

I would love to be able to do to a decent mechanic and then bill the work back to the dealer, but hey you can imagine my result there...

Id love to run a dealership, ive been in the trade for a while now. Our local dealership is sh*tted the service is crap the yard is horible theres no advertising, all the FPVs are hidden up the back out of view and theres kia's in front of the falcons???? They need 2 hire people who love the blue oval to work at the ford dealerships and not the people who dont give a sh*t.

You are drawing a unfounded and incorrect conclusion there.

Firstly the warranty cannot be voided on a car because of mods. Ford will not cover the mods, but will continue to honor the warranty. However, if the mods cause a breakage, such as a power increase breaking the driveline then fair enough, the could deny the claim.

Second, people complain about Ford service, because most SUCK. They rely on dumb people paying through the nose for substandard service. Ford also could not diagnose a flat tyre, let alone a voltage drop.

As for the OP Timbos99, I would take it to an Aust electrician and then send the bill to your local dealer. Do not expect them to pay for it, but they might suprise you.

I would find a good auto electrician and get them to do a voltage leak test. I bet it is a bad earth or something basic. You are better to get someone who has a clue to work on your car.

Myself, I diagnose the problem, then take the service manager for a drive and then get him to confirm the problem and only then will I leave my car with them.

Too many times I have left my car without confirming the problem only to find the could not find a problem and so I have wasted my time dropping off the car and being without it for a day.

Most problems I now fix myself.
