Ba Xr6t Lsd Slapping Sound?

Hey guys,

Just went n test drove an XR6t, its a BA2002. The diff in it makes a strang deep slapping noise every so often. The owner tells me this is common for early model LSDs to make this sound. Is this true or is he playing it down?

Also as I'm relatively new with XR6s, how much would an XR6 LSD cost me?

does it make the noise when you are cornering at low speed if so it is due for a diff oil change - if it is when you are changing gears it is the driveline shunt - ya get used to it after a while

ya hit the nail on the head Ace. Its when it corners at a low speed.

But I think it might also be when you change gears, so probably both.

Does this also mean that it's a common thing?

yeah the shut is non cost option with the bas - the oil thing depends on what brand oil is used - I think ya best bet would be to get to a reputable tuner if ya buy it and get them to change the diff oil straight away - make sure ya get someone good to do it cos the last shop I go tto do mine didnt change the seal and now it is weeping
