Hey all

Just wondering if anyone has a Plazmaman BOV fitted to their car?

I'm currently using the GFB Stealth FX BOV, the one which has adjustable spring rate, either atmos/plumb back..etc Great BOV but the inlet to it is only about 25mm and its not big enough to vent off all the boost properly (eg. it vents then flutters still).

I was checking the Plazmaman site, and they have a few BOV's which are made for higher boost applications (I'm running 15psi), and they have a 38mm adapter - which means it would join straight up to the Plazmaman pipe work which has a 38mm stub on it. Currently I have to reduce it from 38mm to about 25mm to make the BOV fit.

So my question is, does anyone have one of the following Plazmaman BOV's fitted and how do they sound?

I'm assuming the first one vents the air out very efficiently, but would not be as loud as one of the trumpet ones. I wonder if the trumpet ones let the air out as effectively as the first one still?

Cheers!

I just got off the phone with Alex from sales, and he reckons the single trumpet 38mm adapter one would be best. They can also supply a fitting so that I can unscrew the trumpet and fit the plumback one, so it can be converted to a "legal" setup easily.

It also slides right over the pipework I have (before the throttle body) and it goes on with 3 grub screws. Looks like its made to fit on their pipework exactly without having to use silicone hoses.

I had a P1 on my car for a bit but now I run no BOV. It still doses because the piston doesn't open quick enough, even with the 38mm connection off the cold side pipe. If you plumb it back it's almost silent after a quick dose or two, and if you have it open it makes a lil SSHHH sound, so a lot of the charge air goes back through the turbo regardless of connection :spoton:

Hmmm he said that at the softest spring setting there would be no issues with all the air coming out, and even at low RPM throttle closing the BOV still vents with a nice soft sshhhh rather than the flutter that I am getting now with my current GFB bov. :/

It depends on the boost you run and the size of the piping (or more importantly the volume of charge air) If there is a high volume of charge air then depending on the size of the BOV it may still dose a bit

I went and seen alex and got myself the single trumpet one, I have found either way like R-spec has said it still flutters no matter what, only at real low revs though, most of the time its a quick flutter then the piston opens and its just ssshhh, if I have it all the way soft and just back off it, it goes ssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh for ages
