What colour range have you got? Just pull the HID system out and put your halogen globes back in, its quite easy

I got 9000k, its not puttin the bulbs back in that worries me its the fact that I have to go over the pits to get it sorted. LMAO at the copper though, he was like "you got a mod plate for that turbo" I was like "no, should I?" so anyways he starts with the ticket and then I told him it a standard turbo, man didnt he look silly.

I'd say the 9K is what got you done! They would be almost purple!

Not sure how thorough the inspection is, I beleive in NSW they basically just test what you were defected for - this may be different in QLD though...

The problem right there is the colour range. Its near purple an its gonna attract the wrong attention. Ive had 6000k the slight crystal blue colour in my car for over 12 months an mine are bright like possum spotters in the trees at night 60w have followed cops etc. Been pulled over for rbts an never had a thing said bout them. Have mates with the exact same none have been pulled over at all for them.. your best bet is just take the bulbs out leave the ballasts in an when your finished at the pits put the bulbs back in. Maybe invest in 6000k way better light range aswell.. I dont believe they are illegal either as just bout every new car has them.

I know in the ACT if you get defected, they go over your car with a fine tooth comb, they check the defect, and everything else while they are there! And you usually score another defect for your troubles.

  • Still have a turbo, it's just on a diesel.

HIDs are illegal to fit to a falcon in any state.

9000k, you might as well of put a neon sign on your car saying 'Defect me please'

4300k in mine and the coppers have never batted an eye lid.

I had 4300k in my F6 for nearly 3 years without an issue.

I see heaps of HID cars above 6000k and they stand out like DB.

Hope it gets cleared, you are best to get <6000k globes if you plan to keep running them.

P.S ANY aftermarket HID is illegal when retrofitted to a non HID equipped car due to no levelers and washers.

I have to agree with the above posts.

Personally I had 8000k in my old car. Within 2 weeks I was pulled over and defected for them.

Ive had one of SENNA_T 6000k BOSCH kits installed for well over 3 months now and the police do not even look twice.

Which is very encouraging considering the Fords are not as targeted as much as my poor Nissan is :(

sh*t dude lucky my car was parked in last night so I never went out. Where were they sitting last night? guessin doing one of those "now targeting hoons" things. Hope they just look at your lights when you go back in or else it could get expensive
