TBH, is 1 meter really going to make that much of a difference? We're not talking Top Fuellers, Nitro Bikes here are we?

Not for some but for others running flat 11's and 12's it might???

Yes it does if you are after a record. When 0.01 of a second is the difference between 1st and 2nd it matters. WAW's and MM's are used by most to test their setup's. Private track days and race days are where it's at when you're after a record. With a prepped track and a the start line brought closer I'd have run 11.5x and my 60ft time would have come down 0.1-0.15 of a second from 1.946 seconds, resulting in more than 0.1-0.15 gain at the end of the track. Drag racing is won or lost in the 1st 60ft time all things being equal.

As it was I ran 11.72 @ 121.45mph on a lazy 1.946 60ft time after which I was politely told to get my ANDRA licence, 4 point harness and a tailshaft loop.

Tocchi, great result for a dead stock car. Imagine what it would do with a full eleventymillion dollar exhaust system and tune!
