No mate, I just spoke to them over the phone.

I just clarified this with Motorplex again and have been informed that the AS/NZS1698 sticker on the outside of helmet forms the accepted display for AS/NZS1698:2006.

If I can get out of work by 4:30 I'll swing past, grab a helmet and see you all down there.

Don't forget, brendon will bring a spare.

Also, not that I'm suggesting you do this.

But, if Brendons spare is already being used, a less honest person would borrow a AS/NZ lid for scrutineering off someone (lets sayyyy, an XR6T forum member) and then give it back and use their own helmet for racing once passed.

Not that any of us would do that...ahem

turboboink - I feel your frustration. sh*t like this always happens before an event. had something similar before MV couple years ago. Good thing get it now, could be worse while driving!

My luck was pretty unforunate, had new tyre fitted at a tyre shop, drove away at night. tyre deflated. took off, put a borrowed rim from a mate that could clear the brembos. took the tyre back to the shop following day. seems like I had a crack in the Tyre beed, said shop did not warranty it. went else ware and got a tyre fitted that I had laying around. Tyre then developed an egg T_T fun times

In regards to the farting, Yeah it can get annoying! I know I had this early on with mine, just asked Simon and he just updated my tune, I flashed the new tune on and it worked a treat after it was done! However I do recall him saying something along the lines it does provide somewhat level of safety but don't quote me on this was in 2008 lol

Honestly at this stage I'd rather run the risk of blowing my box as im getting it rebuilt later regardless. I just want the car to put a smile on my face. The power is definitely there, the powerband in 3rd scares me, just getting to it sucks.

The scrutinisers couldn't find the date of manufacture on my helmet (budget eBay goodness, although I did find it inside later on anyway) and they let me race regardless the other week. I think if you're a repeat offender they will crack down

Roy (I think) at Go Gear pointed me to this ANDRA amendment

http://andra.com.au/images/stories/ANDRA/PDF/rulebook_page_updates/2013%20andra%20rulebook%20amendment%20-%20page%20244%20australian%20standard%20helmets.pdf

Which says:

Certified helmet to AS/NZS 1698:2006 or AS/NZS 1698
4.20.7.7 HELMETS - GENERAL REGULATIONS
a) in 2006 the Australian and New Zealand Helmet Standards
were amalgamated, the AS1698:1988 standard was
superseded by AS/NZS1698:2006 as such AS1698 helmets are
prohibited.
Some manufacturers may not display the year of the standard
on the helmet label; in such cases either AS/NZS 1698:2006 or

AS/NZS 1698 standards labels are permitted

So yeah it rules out helmets that just say "AS1698".

Anyway bought a new one and it's blue to match the badge so should be faster.

Will be there about 6:30 maybe.

PPS

was joking about the exxy helmet. I was hoping for sub $100 price tag like I see on ebay but not to be at short notice...got the $150 one.
