Just finished my appointment with the JUSTCARS assessor and well I highly recommend them.

We went over the whole car and picked out extra work to be done as well as choosing my prefered repairer even though they want to use theirs.

Should be fixed soon.

For those that dont know, had some guys throw rocks at the car and damage was done to the side and window.

Total cost of repair = $5000.

Also I only became a member with them 2 days prior this happening.

JUSTCARS FTW. Excess is $450 until the guys are charged and convicted.

Cheers

Adrian

I can see some ppl a paying somewhere between $900-1500 by the option of varying their excess. My mate owns a F6 and he pays something like $1300 on premium, but in the case of an accident his excess is like $2400-2800 something like that. Geee I wont be able to flock out that much money in one go just for an accident. But from experience I would say AAMI, they are really good and probabl the best in insuring ppl with cars. im with them all the way... CHeerS

I just figured I'd add after my last post of saying Just Cars brushed me off in the past without explanation; they have now quoted me.

With a fairly large excess (typical for us all <25s) I could get it down to $1074pa.. I don't like their 'vehicle excess' bs; but with my record and fingers crossed I could think I am easily saving $1000+ pa over the RACV deal I'm on now!

I will be swapping over soon unless RACV can come to the table; which is highly doubtful in this dreamworld they seem to think we live in..

I did a quote on just cars then I am 26 and there was $5 dollars more then NRMA premium I am paying now.. just cars quoted $2,346 dollars a year with $600 excess.. NRMA my excess is $500 and I have a 70% no claim bonus for life and pay by the month which is $190 bucks.. I no I would rather pay $500 then $1700 adjusted excess to get the premuim down to around $1350 a year. cos I no I would not have $1700 laying around incase of an accident.. I have a BA 11 F6 Typhoon and just cars would insure it for $32000 with the above premuim of $2,346 but I have it insured with NRMA for $45,000 with premium of $2,341 a year.. so IMO just cars is a rip off really.. in NSW anyway.. well that's my to cents cheers

Talk to a broker. I did when I lost my license. Wound up insuring my cars with CGU. Have had great service from them and trouble free claims (3 in total, over $25k in claims) and my excess went up by a couple of hung. After no claims for two years it's come down again :beerchug:

He's right. Im not being bias just coz im an insurance broker :mexicanwave: Its just so much easier to have someone who has a good relationship with the underwriters from the insurance company to deal with them on your behalf. I end up having beers with the same underwriters that write my clients policies!! I take care most of my clients personal vehicles, anything from ferrari's to lambo's even FPV's and HSV's!! Very competitive premiums too.
