Ok so I got a fg xr6t with the zf trans....

now when it changing gears it seems that sometimes the gear changes are harsh and not as smooth as they should be... ive only done 8000ks ...

any ideas?

Don't think you've got a problem. I find it changes very smooth under hard use but it is a bit harsher when you back off. Drive smooth for a couple of minutes and it's all back to normal. What a great box! Hope it doesn't go away soon. Hope Ford appreciates just how good this box is.....

I have a BF MK1. Yesterday my gearbox started doing some weird stuff. The gears shift ok if your driving slowly but if you put you foot down that little bit extra to overtake etc. the box doesnt change gears, It just keeps winding out past 5000 if you let it. This happens in normal and performance mode in 2nd and 3rd gear. If you switch to tiptronic and manually change it does this without a problem. Any suggestions?

Try easing off the throttle rather than jumping off it quickly. Its a feature that comes along in the auto modes once you've been driving it hard. Next time it does it, try touching the accelerator pedal lightly, that should bring it into the next gear...

im always in tiptronic mode and the car wont change gears until the accelerator gets past the 'step' so to speak which is just before full throttle, u can feel it if u dont stamp on the accelerator, and it will hold the gear until your foot is past the step, then it kicks back a couple of gears and away you go, but being in tiptronic you have to manually change back up the gears. and if your foot is progressively accelerating in auto it shouldnt change gears until u back off gently
