When rolling in neutral (clutch in or gearstick stick in neutral) sometimes the revs bounce of about 500 rpm and correct back to normal and this keeps happening until the car comes to a complete stop (sometimes it does stop when the car stops). It's odd as some days it doesnt happen at all, and some days it happens for the whole trip. I have this problem more when its colder and raining... dunno if that's any help? When its cold sometimes it can go down to 250rpm and almost stall before going back up again to 900 or whatever the standard is. Not sure what it is? Could it be a clutch problem? I know the clutch is loud as when the car is in neutral (sounds like a washing machine with tiny rocks in it) though my mechanic reckons its a performance clutch cos he saw a pink ring or something... but honestly I have no idea, just need someone to point me in the right direction..Any ideas guys Cheersp.s sorry its not the best description, I did try!! Your problems are pretty common.Just search for "Idle" and finally "rollover noise"It should help you out a little.

I have taken to ford before to get the same problem fixed and they perforrm a carbon flush witch fixes the problem only for a short while and that back to the begining. there must be something else that's causing this that can be changed to stop this from happening
