As it seems, I STILL haven't found myself a car.. Prices on BF2 turbo's dont seem to be any cheaper than some early typhoons. This has got me thinking that maybe a BA typhoon is on the cards.. As I will modify it I thought the typhoon would be a better base to start right? Or is there something that's not so great withearly typhoons?

If it's a manual BF XR6T you're looking at getting, go the Typhoon, no questions.

Before you consider how much better it looks/feels/drives/performes for stock...etc, it has an AP Racing twin plate clutch, which will cost you north of $3,000 to install in the XR6T as soon as you go above stock power :blink:

They will have the same valvetrain & bottom ends though, but still there's no question in my mind, go the Typhoon :stupid:

If your an auto man, don't even consider the BA Typhoon. BF XR6T/ZF all the way.

Personally I would get the BF. You will get one with half the klms as the Typhoon for probably a similar price, and that 6-speed auto is just so dam good... If the BF2 XR6T isn't already quicker than the Typhoon stock, a flash/tune only will see it nail a BA Typhoon. Further modification potential sways in the BFs favour also.

From what I can assume, the threadstarter will be going for a manual...

BA Typhoons only came out as BA II's , and there were no automatic typhoons before the BF's. The BA phoons only ever had the 6 speed manual Box. And as we all know the 4 speed box just can't handle power, so they had to wait to get the 6 speed ZF.

Auto = Leaning more towards a BF II XR6T

Manual = Definitely a Typhoon

BUT it is your car, so test drive them both and see what you think... They will both respond very very well to mods and are pretty much on par with each other.

It comes down to the transmission you want, the aesthetics, How each drives, and if you want an FPV or a Ford...

All the best with your search mate,

Dan

Also making the same decision myself, looking for a manual. Are the seats/interior much better in the FPV or just minor stuff?

It really depends on if you get the luxury/sports leather interior with premium sound and such.

I think they are quite similar when the T has the upgraded intererior.
