I know that everyone will hate me when I say this but just as the SS Late model camira is a Expensive Daewoo product and not HSV, the XR6T and XR8 are being marketed as Ford models - not FPV. The fact that FPV did the work on them doesn't mean anything. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to put those badges on 'cos I think they need something on each guard and I even considered FPV-XR6 number plates. But will the motoring enthusiast look at the owner of an XR6T whose has put these badges on in the same way as the dickhead driving the VN SS with HSV stickers all over it. I don't think that's a fair cop but I'm suggesting that that's how it will be viewed.

My question is "what does FPV stand for?" Is it just a name or is it really performance? Take an XR6 Turbo from the Ford factory, inject a NIZPRO Cobra stage 3, upgraded brakes, suspension and may be 18/19 " wheels and what do you get - yes a real PV (Performance Vehicle, approx 450 Flywheel KW, great handling and excellent braking characteristics at a real world price. Now what does FPV have to offer for about the same price?

PV doesn't mean just straight line performance or just big KW, or you could get a dato 120y put a few grand into it a have a 10Sec car!

There are plenty of vehicles that out perform the stock FPV or HSV, it's all about stock vehicle value for money, and that is a personal value which differs from person to person.

FICTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure I'm convinced its fiction. The fact that this forum is 90% focussed on mods, performance and more RWKW would suggest that Ford and FPV have created a huge 'after-market' business for the likes of NIZPRO and others simply because the showroom vehicles just don't cut the mustard for a majority of members of this forum.

What you are saying may be true but us forum members only make up a very small percentage of XR6T and FPV owners. I think you'll find that the majority of owners out there in the real world are happy to keep their cars stock for warranty and reliability. Also the govt is to focused on revenue raising and not road safety so there is getting less and less places to test the performance of stock vehicles, let alone ones with 400kw or more.
