Oh, l am hoping that one day they will.

In around 3 years at trade in time l would love to get my hands on a 300kw FPV T6.

Who knows, maybe it will happen? <_<

I was under the impression that the XR6T is essentially FPV, as they do the intercooler and Turbo??

The engine is fitted in the plant and then the pipes, ducts and airflow devices are fitted at FPV. Premium options like sun roof, 18" wheels and prem brakes are also fitted by FPV, at a guess 'cause they are better suited to small production runs than the main assembly line. <_<

I'm assuming that the XR6 turbo does not get the FPV badge 'casue FPV did not develop it or modify the car beyond Ford specs. <_<

Any Ford people out there that can confirm this?

Nope. The XR's didn't get badged as FPV's simply because of exclusivity. David Flint wants to promote FPV as "something special", (not that he's implying the XR's aren't!), from the point of view that the FPV models, while still being full time models, won't be high volume sellers. Basically the point was that going up against HSV, you're gonna be playing in a high dollar bracket, and the XR's in this respect are still back in Expensive Daewoo land, not HSV.

FPV did all the development of every performance BA model, and I think there's nothing lacking in not having the badge on the XR's. The credibility of the XR range and the acknowledgement of the hand of FPV in their development is all I would ask for, personally :D

It has made it trickier for clubs like ours though, but that's another story!

So bottom line, yes the XR6 Turbo and XR8 were fully R&D'd by FPV, and are fitted with gear at the FPV factory (the XR8 engine is completely assembled there), but are not badged as FPV's as this corporate entity is being reserved for some TRULY SPECIAL VEHICLES <_< B) :P
