Hi guys I have an 03 XR6T it's 5spd manual.. the other day I did this "boost solenoid matinence" thing which involved unplugging the wastegate line to the solenoid and spraying WD40 in both the line and solenoid.. put it all back together and fark what a difference,, boost kicked in early and it had better response.. today it feels like it's holding back and it's not responding like it was the other day.. im hoping the pipe hasnt came off but it doesnt feel like its boosting anymore then last time.. I was driving before and strched out 3rd abit and it had a miss at 3,200rpm.. sometimes when I come to a quick stop the revs drop down to 3/400ish then back up to normal

any ideas?

P.S. hurry up Mr.Rudd with my cash,, I wanna tune

maybe plugs or coils - that is what my did when a coil pack crapped itself - try labouring the engine heaps ie put it in 5th at like 50 and then accelerate pretty hard - if it misses under load it sounds like a coil pack

Revs dropping that low could be valve springs. As for solenoid lube, you could also try a black stripe on the bonnet or a rabbits foot on the rearview mirror.

Done the 5th gear flat out trick this morning,, I think it was cutting out abit but not 100% sure and I ran out of road to do it properly..

Also with the revs it only does it when I make a quick hard stop.. hope its not the springs

petrol I have just over a qtr

I just dont get the bonnet stripe and rabbit foot joke :( lol

The rabbits foot joke refers to the boost solenoid service. My local tuner did about 5 of these for customers free of charge but did not actually do it. The customers were very happy with the "noticable" improvements.

The BA valve springs are soft as. When I gunned my BA XR6T and stopped hard the revs would die and it would sometimes try and stall. Valve springs were the cause.

Perhaps they would have been even happier with the results if the job had been done?
