holy hell, just read through the whole thread and youu've definitly done the in's and out's of this one!

doing an awesome job of getting everything organised to be a reliable motor!

hope these valves turn up soon, so this can come together for some more updates!

:censored:

question though,, why didn't or did you? look into getting a built Atomic 998GT-A or GT-R motor as it would've been cheaper than buying a kit and building your motor up?

I'm sure youu adressed this and there was a reason, butt I'd like to know as I'm currently trying to make the decision myself..

Thanks! Reliability as a daily driver is definitely where it's at for me mate. :spoton::roflmbo::3gears::omg:

Still waiting on the valves for at least another 2 weeks. After that I'll probably wait a further 2 weeks, then I need to make a call on whether or not I need to enforce the contingency plan! Problem is, the contingency plan will double the cost of the valve. Though it will be full custom valve. But does the cost ensure reasonable benefits? That is the question :)

My long motor will cost me around the 18k mark in parts and build. I've spent 11k in parts so far and will need to spend 6 or 7 more to get to where I want to be. And I am using some Atomic products mate, don't you worry ;) I'm going down a different path with a few aspects of my build. It is a journey after all.

To try and answer your question:

There's a team of 5 or 6 people who are behind this build . And they are all integral to it even being completed. My personal budget is 50k of (which I've spent $26,950.52) but there's also 10's of thousands of dollars in both free time and trade pricing being put into it as well. If you had to pay normal retail rates and labour for what I've done/need to complete, you could probably spend $80,000-$100,000 dollars.

You need to look at your budget and work out where to go from there I reckon.

G'day mate,

congratulations on getting this far, I've been a quiet follower of this thread for a while now.

It's nice to see someone open about how much a project like this costs instead of the normal secrecy.

Goodluck with the build and the valves especially

I try to be as transparent as possible. If my experience can benefit the forum community in even a small way, then I'm happy. :roflmbo:

Glad you're enjoying it.

Cheers and thanks Blake.

Finally the valves have arrived. We can now finish the head and begin engine assembly. Intake is 2mm larger and exhaust is .5mm larger in inconel and both are a single groove. I haven't weighed them yet but they seem very light.

Also got a pic of completed turbo manifold, plenum and runners from Snort. They look awesome in the pic. Can't wait to see them in the flesh. The new 1200 plenum and runners have some neat features.

Snort Iceman 1200 full replacement plenum to suit EA-AU and BA-BF 4.0 litre Falcons. Solid cast aluminum available polished, satin and powder coated. 2 Piece design, larger volume, 44-38mm tapered runners with shorter intake. Retail is $1299. Great price for this kind of setup with flexibility to custom port the runners as Geoff has told me he's designed them with plenty of meat. They will also suit throttle bodies from stock to 90mm.
