sounds decent mate, I wouldn't know what to do with myself with 350-400rwkw let alone 600rwkw!!! I would need an extra job to pay for the tyres it would fry.

Yeah decent hole in the pocket! Thems there dyno queen numbers. Not going to run around the streets with a 600+ rwkw tune in it all the time. You'd never get it to the ground.

Good luck with it.

500 is not too hard with what's available these days.

600 is actually is big jump in terms of what's required to support it.... engine stresses, exhaust, drivetrain, air & fuel supply, injectors etc

For those with 4 kids, it's like going from 3 kids to 4 kids; a lot more infrastructure and a lot more stress all round (lol).

Brian

Thanks Brian. Apparently so. That's why we are building the engine to support the figure but waiting to see what extra's are required to transmit that power.

Good to see you have it under way Steph, keep us updated...

I will Pat.

One question.

Why are you spending money on porting and polishing of the head when it isn't required?

Would the funds required to do that be better spent elsewhere?

Any suggestions

600?? FMD!! Oh and how about a gt47, those f*ckers are huuuge.

This custom T51R is capable of over 700rwkw so it's ample apparently

What brand pistons and rods did u go with?

All the best with the build

Argo rods and an I beam piston. Ross probably. And thanks.

Depends how much you get quoted to port and polish.

A better set of squirts?

One or two conrods?

Bigger better clutch?

Heaps of options.

Everything else is well up to the task. If the heads need the work, and they probably will, then these fine gains can make that 600+ that bit easier to gain. don't want to have to pull the thing apart again to do it. It's an auto but yes, money in the drivetrain is always needed.

Good stuff mate... but I reckon you'll want a bigger turbo

I asked that too but I'm being told it will make 700+ Chris. It's the "gold" one apparently and a custom wheel so I'm being told it's up to the task

Porting reduces restriction... lower restriction reduces boost, but maintains or increases air flow... so with lower boost, lower temps, more ignition advance, etc etc.

It offers as much benefit as it does in an atmo engine - if not more.

What is different is how you port it... bigger is not always better.... and in a forced application the method can be slightly different.

Have a chat with Simon at Xtreme. Over 600rwkW without touching anything on the head at all. Including camshafts.

I didnt say it wasnt possible. Put enough boost in anything and you will make the power. But, for me I am aiming for the lowest boost pressure possible - for the reasons I gave before. In the long run, it will benefit me more. No need to waste anyones time talking about how to go down a path I dont want to go. Sounds like its not Strauberry's path either.

Yeah it all comes down to its build specs, T51 is just a name...

Only one way to find out mate, and if its too small just try something bigger, nothing wrong with that :B):
