Those Argentinians sure know how to do valve train components. Very nice and extremely helpful to talk with as well. I love the American attitude of getting you what you need, no matter how small the order.IRS...yeeessss. we need to do something about it me thinks. First step is to find out the viability of a twin bush setup. I'll be making some calls and chatting to a few people next week about a custom casting. Anyone got a spare XT IRS assembly? I'll give you a buzz next week Spiro to get your thoughts.I just downed some nice Baklava and a cafedaki. A grease nipple would help also.Probably wouldn't hurt to hollow dowel the housing mount bolts to allow them to only carry tension loads as well. The block went back to the machine shop yesterday for billet main caps. Even though we'd chosen a custom valve, I've decided that for longevity and reliability, I'm going for a Ferrea racing custom job. Made form what they call a "super alloy", it has a higher heat rating than Inconel. Should do the job nicely. I've also decided to go for a single groove instead of triple. As we will be pushing the motor to near 8000rpm, I'm being told our high rocker ratio tends to push the valve tip in and it can snap.I've stared research into a possible twin diff bush setup for the IRS as well as strengthening the assembly it all bolts up to.How's your beast going Trav?Yer every thing is going good with the ute got some new rims the other day . Then taking to CV some time in feb to get the bronze seal and race stud to spin the turbo to 40 psi . So hoping for some nice power gain there. But we will see how it go's I guess

Are you ready!? What rims did you end up going with? The flat or glossy or something else?Good build.....great to see good engineering in practice.Just a few thoughts........Why not make the diff tail housing so that the housing itself extends into the bush up to it's rear face with the bolt only taking fore and aft loads.?????Bushing material could be teflon/combination poly and teflon to help keep the bush from squeeking as loads change. Interesting idea. The cradle would require more serious alterations with that, but it sounds strong.I want to keep the mods to the cradle at a minimum, with the work being in the diff hat/bush combo. But I haven't had a real close look at a cradle to see what we're working with.Spiko's sending me one down apparently Edited 31/01/10 02:25 AM by straughsberry

Also, the best non home-made Kourabiethes I've ever had comes from a shop right opposite the Ford main gate. Of course, no one made better ones that what my Mum did And when you come to Melbourne, I've got a Scotch in mind. Ever tried Laphroaig?
