just wondering how do you reset/recalibrate the TPS then?

cheers

The TPS is really a mechanical device. It doesnt have any brains and is actually a dumb device. Its a bit like a volume control knob on your radio. You turn it clockwise the volume goes up, anti-clockwise the volume goes down. You cant really reset/recalibrate the volume knob. You can however recalibrate the amplifier its controlling. In the case of the TPS, the PCM reads the position of the TPS and responds accordingly. The error is only created inside the PCM.

The only way to reset the error is to take battery off for 30mins and replace. A faulty TPS will send the PCM the wrong values. Replacing the TPS is the only way to fix that problem. Also, there could be a slight chance the PCM is at fault too.

Also Gents...

The cam phasers.

The VCT has solenoids under the cam covers, these are known to stick when they become gummy with poor oil.

Some people remove them and unstick them with some contact cleaner.

Most times they do not need to be removed to reset the cams, its a simple procedure.

Get in the car and put the key in the ignition.

Put your foot flat to the floor on the accelerator pedal.

Turn key and start cranking the engine for 10 seconds straight (the car will not/should not start).

Turn ignition off and remove key.

This seems to remedy a few issues eh...
