Everything is the same except for the physical size of the housing and the fact that it's a different supplier.

It will bolt in and plug straight up. Good idea to recalibrate the TPS.

Yeah I've had the same issue lately, probably about 50% of the times that I start it. It's BA MkII mid 05. Stupid question but what is involved with recalibrating the new TPS?

Same as recalibrating the old TPS....

Press the loud-pedal to the floor and turn the ignition on. The car won't (shouldn't) start. That will reset the old girl!

Yeah I've tried that in the past, holding it flat for about 10 seconds. Also have heard to turn the key to ON, hold the pedal flat for a few seconds then let go, then start the car.

Problems after re-calibration will indicate a failing TPS, the contacts wear out or readings fluctuate between a cold and hot engine bay. Just my own opinion here, but 9 out of 10 times, re-calibration of a old TPS will never fix the problem.

didnt read the whole post :P but if the problem is still there that also sounds similar to a problem car shaked & rattled (car even sometimes stalled when stationary) & I got carbi cleaner & cleaned the throttle body out (sh*t loads came out) & the car went from sh*t to champagne!

How did you guys go?

I'd have to see if I have any left over, but for anyone in Melbournite I can supply a TPS fairly cheap.

Hi guys I hope changing the TPS fixes your problem.

I just want to clear one myth. The foot flat to the floor and turn the key does not recalibrate anything at all.

This technique only fixes a flooded engine condition.

Foot flat to the floor and turn the key DISABLES FUEL INJECTORS! that's all this does. Nothing to do with TPS. This is direct from the ford manual.

Hope this helps people in the future!
