Have teed up a well known Sydney workshop to tune the car.

A tune and hot side pipe is worth around $1600. This will add around 30-40rwkw.

An xforce 3.5" turbo back is going to cost around $1800 fitted in mild steel. I know it will sound great.

Of course the exhaust would be fitted prior to tune.

So what reasonable additional power should I expect from this over tune only ?

I'm trying to justify spending big $$$ on the exhaust but if its only for a minimal power gain, I may be better off looking at other mods such as coilovers.

Not looking for big power, just slightly faster, better drivability and fuel economy.

However, Mrs Skidude wants it loud.

Sorry its an FG as well (the green one to the left !).

I'd also suggest if you are chasing a good solid upgrade in power without changing the turbo, do the dump and cat.

The rest of the system will open it up past ~300-330rwkw (depending on what support mods you have) but only with the F6 turbo.

From what I understand the xr6t (FG) turbo cant fully make use of an even more free flowing system, keeping in mind the only part of the sock system that holds it back it really dump/cat.

Option 2.

True Custom exhaust.

Spoke to an custom exhaust specialist. They will fabricate a 4" dump on site from aluminised steel, fit a hi-flow cat and replace the mufflers with

stainless steel straight through designs.

He reckons the 2 mufflers alone will be $250 each. So will be interesting to see his quote for everything.

Anyone think of any drawbacks with this approach ?

Mate, if you want a decent 4" into 3" turbo bak exhaust system, you can't go past Rapid's.

Check out the Rapid Systems BA BF FG Inhouse Exhaust thread. He's located in Gladesville.

I've got a video in there too:

Hey All,

This is the latest 1 cpm XForce CAT. Ultimate flow, increased spool and nicer note.

post-12741-128098363975_thumb.jpg

But seriously, for the last couple of months, my car has been running like a Holden. Very down on power, low boost and exhaust note had become very quite. I had a feeling there was a problem in the exhaust (genius). Took it to Glenroy exhaust yesterday and found the CAT had dislodged and found it's way into the rear muffler.Cleaned it up, bolted back together and now it's all :sleepystuff: again :)

Cheers,

Steph.
