I got that quote from DPC Performance, he said he buys direct off xforce. I think he was trying to pull a fast one on me.

I will order my exhaust from Best Mufflers and get a place to fit it. My mate recommended Performance Exhaust in Ringwood he said they do a great job.

I didn't think it would cost to much to get a bolt on exhaust fitted, if I had a hoist I would probably give it a go my self. I will need to get a flash tune after this exhaust has been fitted, is the generic tunes ok for this? How much would you say I would pay for a Capa Flash tuner 2? Ive been told about $595.00 from DPC Performance.

you will need a custom tune after its fitted, a generic wont cut it...

most of the labour is in the dump pipe fitment, its a PITA... but the rest of it is piece of piss.

Any recommendations for a tuner? How much would you pay for a custom tune on these? Yea I have been told a dump is a pain, spend a couple hundred and give the headache to someone else.

thanks for the fast reply's guys.

No matter what people say about them, these systems are excellent value for money. The CAT's hold together, the systems fit as well as any other off the shelf system, they flow well and sound decent too. If there's better value for money out there I haven't seen it yet.

People, set your locations so that when asking for recommendations on tuners, shops etc, members know where you are! You mention Melbourne but Melbourne is a fairly large city. Perhaps an indication of north, south east or west will help us to make recommendations.

If you're in the SE, then I would recommend Pit Lane. Reputation and results speak for themselves.

Hi mate. Dont go to Performance Exhaust in Ringwood. That guy is a complete tosser and will rip you every cent he can.

Buy your exhaust from Best Mufflers and get Jay from Hillside Exhaust in Ferntree Gully to install it. Mine sits perfectly and all up install was around $200ish :beerchug:

Thanks for the heads up, yea I will get my account set up so there are some more details in it. I am in the eastern suburbs, I have heard pit lane performance is great. I suppose its not that far, and they will also be able to tune my car also. I will give Hillside Exhaust a call see what they can do for me

I will cross Performance exhaust ringwood off my list then.

hi guys,

I fitted an xforce 4inch dump on on Sunday on my own, it was a sh*t of a thing to do, especially on jack stands. anyway I found it to be a very very tight squeeze it got the point where I had to unbolt the sheild around the steering column to get to fit. I have bolted that sheild back in but have noticed now in my steering has become alot stiffer becuase the dump is pushing up against the shield forcing it to touch the column.

has anybody had the same issue, if so what have you done to over come it?

it also is abit noisier too, as in you can hear it knocking up again something, or like somthing is loose. some feedback would be great.

can I ask where the $2800 quote was from?

I got quoted that from Autobarn for supply only, and I when I told him that I could get one for half that he said "are you sure its genuine XForce?"

install shouldnt cost you any more than $200-250.... I did mine myself though...

how did you go fitting the dump pipe yourself, did you find that it pressed up against the steering coloumn shield heaps and it was a very tight fit? Are you getting much rattling or rubbing noise? mine has made my steering stiffer. I did mine myself too.

im thinking of ripping out that steering shield thing
