My rear muffler with twin tips was really restrictive. I had a custom stainless muffler made with twin 3" tips as I didn't want a single outlet and it now flows much better, no more stupid whistle!

Hey BJC. I had heard that this was a restricition on this system. What muffler did you end up using? Obviously it is a custom job. Any idea on the brand of muffler u used? Is it stainless? What kind of KW are u now supporting with that system?

Here- http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=60328&st=18

I just used a mild steel muffler painted black with a stainless tip welded on. Pretty sure when you order them now you can choose either twin tip or single straight through mufflers as this is what we ordered with ray076 FG turbo.

Not sure on power as I haven't had it custom tuned since my last tune, just know it flows alot more, I also have a peice of 3.5in pipe with flanges made up to replace my cat when I finally get it tuned.

Fit a straight through 3.5inch rear muffler, of decent quality, and the system will support 450+ (as long as the cats in good nic).

We've done this to a few BA's using the same mufflers I use on my FG, turns into a very good system.

I have the tunehouse exhaust and I am one very happy customer, nice note on the outside and quiet on the inside, bolted straight up (no modifying) and sits near perfect!

here is a link to my photobucket where I had taken some photos of the system for another member enquiring about it photobucket

please excuse the the cleanliness of the exhaust/car (misses has dirt driveway) :stirthepot:

if u gut the cat and run a screamer, shud flow 1000hp. jap cars make 1000hp with 3.5 no cat and screamers. must be single all the way though, including the cannon at the end.

MTM - Have one on my ET (mild steel version).... all good. Noise right, performance fine if you're going to tweak it up to 340rw. Will require a custom tune on installation - so be prepared. Photo's in my garage pics....

I have a FG and have no dramas with it. A little droney on the highway but apart from that its fine. Im about to hopefully get a tune to 380rwkw and they say the 3.5 will hold more than that power easy. They sound quite nice as well.
