Used cars can be very profitable because there is less chance to shop the product.Ford Motor Company really have nothing to do with the used car industry, once the vehicle is sold as new it holds no further interest from there on. Obviously they would like you to service your car at a Ford Dealership, but they don't car how many owners the car has had.

My advice is just keep hitting up carsales as most will pop up there and when you enquire and they give you a call even if its not what you want ask them to hold on to your details and keep you in mind for whats coming in later on. Customers don't see it that way, they're buying a Ford from a Ford dealer. The customer, a future potential new Ford buyer, then gets turned off buying a Ford altogehter.Ford really does need to impliment some dealer level control. Especially in the area of trade ins etc. Holden's trick for years to protect their resale values is to offer more to trade in Holdens, and really offering rock bottom on a Ford or other makes. Ford dealers have just taken the route of offering rock bottom on all trade ins, loosing more customers and credibility to Expensive Daewoo over the years. I'm guessing the salesmen hate talking to people on the phone cos they're not trained for it. They know how to go in for the kill when you're there looking at a car in the flesh but I suspect the number of sales they get on the phone these days (especially as you can just look cars up on the net from the comfort of your own home/office and then go see them once you have a shortlist, as opposed to wasting a month of Sundays kicking tyres) would be minimal, so of course they don't give two hoots about being polite on the phone. Xm coupe Member 24 Member For: 17y 8m 30d Posted 17/03/09 04:27 AM Author Share Posted 17/03/09 04:27 AM But I did go in person. He told me to my face. Anyway I went to another dealer today near my work. Yet again "nar dont like to sell them 2nd hand I have been burnt always having to fix them under warranty" At this point I didnt even both talking to him about what he has I just left. Seriously what is up with Ford Dealers?? Almost as bad as Holden.I really want to get a Phoon or T but they are making my life very difficult at this point in time. When I bought my Suby, every yard I went to they would search all there inventory, holding yards and other yard under the same management then take my name and number and I would get a call once a week just saying what has come in seeing if they could help and if I have found anything. That is working for you commission!Any ways hoping to find one soonish.
