Hey Guys,

Just bought a BF2 XR6T with 110km and am wondering about some noises from the gearbox in 1st and 2nd. Under any acceleration from stop or rolling start in 1st and 2nd the gearbox makes a slight rattling/grating noise. I've done a bit of searching and reading and found this affects the FG XR6T too, but I don't think they have the same gearbox. I've heard it being referenced to as "rollover" or "hash rollover"?

The car has the original clutch still fitted, and it picks up a little high making some gear changes a little difficult to get smooth but I'm getting used to it still too. I'm thinking it's just due for a new clutch and thrust/spigot bearings.

Hope I'm not reposting anything, but yeah some idea as to whether this is normal or not would be appreciated - or whether others have experienced it.

Cheers.

Sorry was me posting under mate's username before..

Lol @ standard issue.

Fark.. I went from an EA with less noise from the gearbox to this haha. Shoulda gone the ZF :(

Good to know it's not a major issue...

How much longer can I expect the clutch to last, and is the high take-up standard too?

The take up in stock clutches can vary a bit, I've driven plenty and they all seem a little different. The stock clutch is only good for stock power, they fall apart with a tune.

The noise in the T56 is a result of the bearings and the fact that the stick is a connection to the box, rather than intermediate linkages, so the noise comes straight through.

Change oil to Transmax Z, it helps with noise, I did mine and it helped but I didn't put enough in so it's still noisy on idle, need at least another 500ml, basically shove oil in to it until it shuts up lol.
