Ute Boy Member 10 Member For: 16y 8m 1d Posted 14/03/09 05:16 AM Share Posted 14/03/09 05:16 AM Hi guys, I lowered my ute today with super lows all round. For the back I used FOR-801 and for some reason the left is sitting lower than the right (if you are looking at it from the rear). They both had diff numbers on them, the right had 800/100 and the left had 800/85. I rang king springs and they said that the springs are diff strengths to compensate for fuel and other components so this was ok. I also haven't cut the bump stops yet and the one on the left is about 10mm away from the bump stop and 25 on the right. Also the left leaf has been stretched past horizontal and is sort of bending the opposite way a leaf should sit. What have you guys experienced? Comments would be greatly appreciated. Ute Boy Member 10 Member For: 16y 8m 1d Posted 15/03/09 03:59 AM Author Share Posted 15/03/09 03:59 AM (edited) Hi I have recently lowered my 2003 xr6 ute with sl all round (FOR-801 rear KFFL-57SL front) and the rear is sitting very low. at the back it is sitting 315mm and I was told it would sit around 340mm-345mm (measured from centre of hub). What have u guys experienced when lowering your utes? Edited 15/03/09 07:22 AM by Dagabond

Ute Boy Member 10 Member For: 16y 8m 1d Posted 15/03/09 05:14 AM Author Share Posted 15/03/09 05:14 AM The rear leafs are like bending the opposite way to a normal leaf should ( opposite to U shape) is this the same as yours?

If they do, someone has f*cked something up royally!Take it to another suspension place, goto Pedders or somewhere that specialises in suspension components. I've found places that just do lowering seem a bit clueless beyond alignments and springs.
Ute Boy Member 10 Member For: 16y 8m 1d Posted 15/03/09 05:27 AM Author Share Posted 15/03/09 05:27 AM Yeah beyond flat, I installed myself but I am sure I installed it right. Cant exactly go wrong. did you have different numbers on your drivers side and passengers side springs? on the drivers side I had 800/100 and on the passengers side I had 800/85. King springs said that this is the right way round but I am not so sure. I am posotive king springs f***ed up somwhere.

Check the Kings web-site for part numbers and see if there is a difference between Left and Right hand spring (I can't see there being a different height though)Suspension and brakes are something you should never stuff around with unless you are 100% sure of what you are doing - a small mistake could end up in disaster in these areas. Going by the fronts I doubt they are KFFL-57SL's. Look more like KFFL-57'sAs for the numbers on the rear leafs im not too sure mate, can't help you out there sorry.
