Play the guitar (since I was 8) but now no longer have time to be in a band. Have a beautiful 1957 Les Paul Black Beauty and a Korina bodied Gibson Flying V (Thanks Ace Frehley for brainwashing me into Gibsons when I was a kid!).

Hey Plonky, that's the stuff.

I'm a "Jackson USA" man myself.....If it doesn't have points, it's not worth playing....lol. My Favourite has to be the Randy Rhoads Sharkfin V............Mmmmm, Gibson V. Korina wood, man that thing would have a nice fat sound.

Should have an "FordXR6Turbo.com" band....lol. Any drummers or bass players out there. QLD based of course!

Does drumming on the steering wheel and dash while stuck in traffic count? I am good at that.

Who has time for hobbies :o?

Work full-time, and doing a Masters degree part-time. That leaves about 1/3 of a bees d!ck free time most days.

Free time may be spent either  or  or  or playing with my Xbox. Would like to get into photography a bit more. Also really need a root :D.

Walk to work everyday, which is currently my only form of exercise - but used to be into cycling, bodyboarding, and the odd game of tennis.

In between washing the car, driving the car, and the ocasional porn download, I only have time for masturbation...

A favourite since I was 12....

:D

The most surprising thing about this revelation for me Cro, is that you can spell masturbation.

Just curious though, what took you so long to discover the challenge of this passtime?

I also tinker with old Amiga computers. I have an A1000 (circa 1986, still works great), 2 X A500's, 3x A1200's (one dead, one with 68030cpu, which got me on the internet in 1993, and other with 68060cpu) and an Amiga 4000 (with Cyberstorm PPC cpu card). I am also the Vice President of the Canberra Amiga Users Society Inc.

Funny the places you run into like minded nerds :) I’m an Amiga man from way back. Actually a Late model camira man in general. Started out on a Late model camira 64 and progressed to an Amiga 500 (with the 'oh so powerful' 512k upgrade card!). Used to be way into the Amiga game and demo scene but since the death of Late model camira in the early nineties I slowly and reluctantly converted to the dark side of PCs. My dream was always to own a 4000 with video toaster, but I never did get around to that one. Still pull out the 500+ and the 300 odd games I have for it every now and then for old times sake.

I'm an addicted audiophile and home cinema nutcase. What little money I have left over after bills goes into that.

Join the club. 90% of my time and money goes into Home Theatre. In my spare time I run a home theatre discussion site called Home Theatre Central. Drop in for a discussion some time (look for Darklord). We don’t have quite the following and kick arse setup of fordxr6turbo.com, but with 460+ members we’re still a solid little community of A/V loving geeks :). I also do some A/V consultancy and installation in my spare time.

What other time I have left over goes into watching DVDs, reading Sci-Fi Horror and fantasy novels (another 10 points on the geek-a-metre B) ), fragging in FPS games (bring on Half-Life 2 and Doom3! ), spending time with my Fiancé, and of course cruising in the XR.

I'm canberra based... d'oh.. I'm a pretty average Bass player who still hasn't learnt how to slap it properly. It doesn't stop me from playing the bass line for iron maiden (mostly), Manowar (pretty simplistic), Ramstein (as simple as simple can be), Megadeth (some easy rest damn hard) etc..

What can I play?

Iron Maiden stuff..

Afraid to shoot strangers - from start to finish (with some stuff ups along the way)

fear of the dark - most of it

The Number of the beast - about half of it

Out of a silent planet - the whole song (pretty simple in bass reall just 4 different notes all the way through)

Run to the hills - about half (with heaps of mistakes)

Rhyme of the ancient mariner - the slowish part in the middle and the bass "solo" part just after it - all up about 3 or 4 minutes of the song

some other maiden song beginnings and parts

Manowar stuff..

The Gods made heavy metal - first song I played from start to finish. pretty simple.

the odd other parts of songs.

Rammstien - damn easy stuff

Adios - most of it. One of my favourite Rammstein songs.

Du Hast (was on The Matrix sound track) - basically all of it. Very easy.

Zwitter - Most of it

the odd other one... there are a few songs that only require 4 different notes etc.. simple.

The odd other song from other bands..

I've had the Bass Guitar for about 2 years. Self taught. Played it about 10-20 minute stints per week for the first few months.. Didn't play it for about a year or so. Bought a new amp about 5 months or so ago and play it about 30 minutes a week..

Have had the good ol' jam session with my brother, who plays an electric guitar reasonably well. Haven't had time to have a jam session with some friends who also have guitars and drums. Oh well..
