hehe. Not quite, but some days I feel like it.

Dash mat is a neccessity where I live mate. So bloody hot.

Besides, the dash is so slippery; dashmat's add traction to sunglasses when rapidly driving around corners. :roflmbo:

Wow - fantastic write up Phantm - and all while you were camping? Very impressive! Thanks for taking the time to post that.

With your noise suppression - your placing it on the outter skin (hope these are the right terms), are you also going to do the inner skins after removing the cardboard looking mouded jobbie :roflmbo:

I'm going the SPS600Cs, so will prob have to ditch the speak mount 'thing'. I assume it's just a matter of mounting up some mdf.

How hard is it to pull the pillar trim off??

Thanks again!

Yeah, as I said, I'll be doing the outside of the inner door trim. Basically the bit the door trim covers. Under the factory foam noise suppression.

You may still be able to mount those speakers to the factory speaker mount. It would be a shame to waste such a good angle.

As for the pillar trim, if you pull the rubber strip off the door jam to expose the edge of the pillar trim, just pull slightly at the top edge first.

Be careful though as the top clip on the pillar trim panel has a little plastic keeper on it. Only pull it out about an inch or two and you'll see what I mean.

The bottom section of it just sits in three separate slots.

Have a look through this section as I think someone has mounted 6" speakers to the factory mounts and has pics as well.

Can't remember exactly, but I think it's in an F6 ute.
