Hi guys,

Just curious if anyone has considered or infact done a 4 link conversion on their ute? Did Simon from Nizpro have this set up at one stage?

I have had a rough quote given to do it, just wondering on opinions?????? :beerchug:

I won't be doing it in the near future, as I'm concentrating on power at this stage but it is something that I may consider later down the track. Load rating etc doesnt bother me as I want to set the car up more for track days and drifting etc, so having coilovers would be much more advantages over the standed leafs imo (but as I'm no expert I would like to hear others opinions)

cheers

Sean

The quote could vary by thousands depending on the hardware used, there is good stuff and some nasty stuff out there. BTW love your sig tiny :stirthepot:

only seen 4 links in decent bagged minitrucks so they can lay out better. could'nt you make it independent like Expensive Daewoo utes?

I think a 4 link set up would be easier? I've heard that there are a few LS1s that are making big Hp with 4 link and 9" diff conversions, so I would think that it must be a better way to go than IRS?

details on said rough quote please

It wasnt so much as a quote, more a 'ball park' figure  . There were a couple of older school cars up on hoists which he showed me and the set ups looked very tidy. I am reasonbly keen to go down this path, that's why I have posted this topic to get as much info as I can, so that I can make an educated decision and get some proper pricing. The 'ball park' figure was $2500 plus the cost of the coilovers, so probably $4500 to $5000 all up I'd say. But in saying that, I take the price with a grain of salt until its on paper!

So what should I be looking at to have a good set up?

ive seen one done and I have to say it loooks brilliant.

when I get some extra coin im in 100 percent for the 4 link and coilovers :spoton:

Any more info on the set up? I have searched google a few times but nothing really comes up.

I remember reading a post somewhere about Nizpros ute having 4 link but there wasnt much info on it. I think he did a GTR rear conversion or something now?

Mate, a well setup 9" will cost you more than $2500 so that ball-park figure is extremely low! If a workshop was to do it, expect $8k - $10k for a good 9", coilies' custom fab work & installation :spoton:

I know someone thinking of going down this path & putting an ally flat tray on the rear. Would be great for the track but not much else imo.

I think drive in drive out just for 9" in around the $3.5k mark.

Does anyone know if a 4 link setup is legal on the streets. I dont think they are in WA.

I will be keeping an eye on this thread.

AFAIK, The are legal. Be prepared to move your petrol tankt to the tray though....

Another option would be the RRS style single leaf with torque road and coil over conversion
