Posted 10/03/09 09:34 AM Share Posted 10/03/09 09:34 AM (edited) I scored a set F6 gauges for my car, and have to drill and tap a port for the boost sensor. Then, I checked the oil press. sensor and it looks like the same thread...... Does anybody know what thread they are?.....I thought they were 1/8 NPT but tried a plug to fit and no-go Edited 10/03/09 09:39 AM by BionicXR6T

Male thread on the sensor and female in the hex adaptor to the block. The Male threads on the turbo oil screen hex fitting are 1/4 x 18 NPT on one end and M14 x 1.5p on the other end. Obviously the NPT goes into the block and the M14 goes into the hex adaptor which goes to the oil pressure sender unit. I put an extension between the hex adaptor and the oil pressure sender to tee off for my new gauge sender which has a 1/8 x 27 NPT male thread on the sender unit. Hope I didn't get too wordy and hope this helps. All the best with it. cheers.

I just replaced the oil sensor on the sandwhich plate(for my guages) because it was melted. There was no thread tape on the old one so I didn't put any on the new one. Now its leaking a bit of oil. Is there a special type of thread tape or sealant that I use? Many Thanks Pete
