The ZF is definately a nice box but the cost of service, repairs or replacement of the ZF box is enough to put me off. Trust me they do break lol.

Just out of interest, what is the rough replacement cost of the ZF should it break?

care to elaborate on the breakages? From the searching ive done here they seem to be good up until high 300 to 400 rwkw at which time it would make sense to look at toughening it up anyway.

That is unless the transmission cooler craps itself and the wrong fluids find their way into the box.

I guess you've got to ask yourself how much that extra $$$ is really worth to you - for example, I sent my missus out to test drive a $22k Territory for her, and she came home with an $18k 02 XR6 Turbo for me! Originally I had budgeted about $12k for a car (like a Getz, ewww), the extra stretch to the Turbo was so worth it. Sure it's worse on the go juice, but goddamn I love it!

I found this XR6T advertised for sale 2006 FORD FALCON BF Mk II XR6 Turbo and in the add is said

It's built in May 06 so it has the same engine as an F6 Typhoon (ie thicker conrods, stronger valve springs - from April 06 onwards XR6Ts and F6 engines share the same part number).

But that is different to what I've read in this thread, where people have said that it is 6/06 that has the f6 internals and have also said that the Mk II's didn't come out till sept /oct.

I haven't actually seen the car yet but can anyone verify that these dates are correct?

or is this guy trying to sell something that he really hasen't got?

06/06, Don't forget he's trying to get the best deal for his car and will probably say anything to do so.

Is anyone able to confirm, 100%, what month in '06 the F6 internals were installed in BF XR6ts? I'm looking to purchase a particular 05/06 BF currently. I've heard from a few people the cutover date was April '06.

Cheers

Nige
