(I do get 4 warning beeps but 10seconds afterwards) ford has had computer on it and said to replace the ecu cos it might be fried....... in which I was thinking if like a computer if you fry a motherboard the hole lot goes am I right?? oh and I have replaced the tps to which im thinking of replacing again. and it did let out a backfire when I clutched itI was told can buy a 2nd hand ecu from a smash cos then would have to send to ford to get my vin number put onto it... so then I pondered if I was to buy a flash tuner run a generic tune would that clear it up?? or buy a phoon motor n ecu ??I have been looking at all the earth wires to make sure nuffin it gettin tripped outIF anyone has ANY info or advise on what it could be would be awsome. as I dont wanna put my 6month old in my car till it is 100% fixed. car info 02 6t, 5spd, 100 thous, no mods. robbo k Member 414 Member For: 17y 29d Location: Wollongong Posted 09/03/09 10:40 AM Author Share Posted 09/03/09 10:40 AM (edited) yeah I had it at my machanic n then he rang his mate at fraud to bing the laptop up n come up with the replace ecu. n then I took it down to fraud n got the same msg. my mate said half the time the computer wont even pick up a fault n said half the sensor n other bs they put on cars is a waste of time. I might try my spare key also what is the key with blue on top of it?? I have replaced fuelpump relays ignition relays, fuse.when was one the computer it logged no fault codes at all bar replace ecu. they did ask if I had jump started it I did once but had it earthed off at the lifting point on the engine. maybe persone b4 maybe went straight from + to - on the battery?? but I can see how it can fry it I have also been told that could be something to do with the ignition wires somewhere. and that some AU falcons had trouble with the ecu's...... It is also used to shutdown the vehicle in an overtemp situation I'm quite sure.
