Don't sell. Give up other luxuries first. Why? Because you will regret it every time you drive your cheaper car...you won't save that much money, especially if you go to a BA xr6t... You have got what you always wanted, now adjust your lifestyle to suit it!!!

Work smarter, not harder.

festiva will pay for itself within the next few months alone!!

Have decided that if I get what I want she will be sold. I will use the missus astra in the mean time for weekend duties but looking at getting a cheap little run about. Not sure what to get yet, thinking about just going back to the ol' lasers or a hilux work ute.

Thanks for everyones comments, its going to be a sad time when it comes to seeing her sold but its for the best.

that's the biggest thing I have been worried about! I think of it as, I'm only 23 with alot of life to come. I've gotta focus on the house and apprenticeship for now and once I finish, I will look at getting myself into a BFII Typhoon. It's a hard decision, mainly because I loved the car so much, best car I have ever had and it is such a pleasure to drive. I'll miss her, that's for sure.

So I have just bought a house with the missus, which I have posted up in another thread and this is the reason my BF XR6T Sedan is up for sale. I would like to get something under 20k just to make life a bit easier for me and the missus. Thoughts of what to get have been going through my head over and over and I can't make a decision!

That is whether to get a:

A) AUII/III XR8 Ute

or

B) BA MkI/II XR6T

I have been checking the prices on both and I think overall I will be happier with the XR6T (engine more reliable, more potential, more power) but then comes in the issue of the gearbox. I don't want another auto car, but I have heard bad things about the 5speed boxes but the 6 speed will probably be out of my reach!

So I just want to see what everyone elses thoughts are. Go the cheaper XR8 or is the BA XR6T worth the extra coin in the long run?

Hope that makes sense!

Cheers.

My advice, remortgage the BFII Typhoon into the house now. That will make you focus on paying the mortgage off and then you'll already have everything you will want. Hope your not too far off becoming a tradesman!!

If I were in your shoes, I'd also sell the XR6T. Don't know if you are still paying it off, but that's gotta be the killer if you're trying to save some money to pay off the house. I remember when I leased my BF XR6T and looking back, faark, thought with what I just paid over the 2 years in lease costs, even taking into account it was pre-tax, man that was a lot of money!!!
