Hi Aiboart,

I could not go past the value for money these cars are.

The brake problem does not really bother me much, as my dealer now understands that I do not accept "normal" or no problem found.

They have been great in listning to me, but I have not gone down the finding the solution road. I have been told by Fraud CRC that they know about the problem and are working on a solution.

If they cannot fix it, I will just go to Race Brakes and get different pads, that I think will fix the problem.

Well me

FG XR6T ute, 6 pot front/big PBR rear (ie SP ute style). 5500km. Brakes only 1000km but its a commuter so they get the full range of sudden stops and trickling stops. ute is pretty much always unladen though.

Build date 2/09

Not a lot of data but must say that so far its only people with 6/4 setups and so far early builds.

Anyone care to offer more data.

Ok, I have some good news.

Just got my car back from Ford after it's 3,000km tyre kick.

Apparently FPV know what the problem is and how to fix it. They have shims that go intot he upper control arms.

This apparently will stop the shudder. I managed to get the shudder when I had a Ford person, so they know I am not crazy and it is not normal.

Hopefully they will have the shims in soon to fix the problem. I am hoping it will be this week.

I get a nasty scraping/crunching noise when I full lock steerling wheel for turning....

I dont suppose this could be a brake issue?

what could it be?

Good news Zap but do you reckon you can get pics and perhaps location of installation so those of us that have a non FPV fitted can look at it and see what we can do.

I will ask for as much details as possible.

I will try to get a copy of the TSB if I can an maybe some pic of the Shims.

Funny how I had a problem showing them the problem this morning, but driving tonight it did it everytime I stopped :banghead:

Finally the parts have turned up and my car got them fitted.

They have replaced the bushes on the upper control arm. Apparently this is not a permemant fix, so I am not sure what is the final fix.

I only drove 5km home, but had no problem in the short drive.

Hopefull this fixes the problem.

Keep us posted mate. Wonder if there was a bush material change from the earlier models. Still no issues with my retro fit 6 pots - probably 2k km into them now.

I do know I will be changing pads from OEM when the time comes up. I know why the dark argent wheels are so popular...less wheel cleaning.

guys, I havent had this issue for a while, since doing a few track days...

still got 5mm + of pad left.. but it squeaks now...

maybe pad thickness plays a factor.

ive done 15,000km on the 6pots now... with track applications in that 15000 as well
