I'm not sure if this has been asked or tried before, I did do a quick search hehe. I think it would be a great idea to have some light weight replacements for us N/A guys, which won't be overly expensive and might help us get closer to our T and V8 brothers. The engine is iron and the driveline is fairly heavy too. Although there are some gains to be had by using lightweight exotic material in body panels and the such, it would be enough to justify the cost in a street car. Plus a 4 door sedan looks a bit silly with its rear seat out! Drive around naked. Don't eat for a week before you going driving,remove 1 wheel nut from each wheel,drain you cooling system and refill with plain water not glycol (hey glycol is heavy).They have heaps of go fast parts for NA 6's on this site. Unsprung saving is said to have a 4-1 effect compared to sprung weight. You will notice the difference in ride, grip, braking etc. Next area you can save serious weight is in the seats....I'd suggest AT LEAST 10kgs per seat can be saved with some Recaros or Bride.There is a CF bonnet available, that's got to be good for 5-10kgs. that's about all you'd bother with for a streeter, but I'd suggest dropping 50-70kgs is pretty easy and with no ill effect for daily use.
