Not to be TOO technical but is that the Jap or Aussie spec GTR?! I think the Aussie spec doesn't get launch control apparently, which costs it about half a second.

Still quicker than the HSV of course.

From my understanding, the '09 GTRs have launch control (haven't read anything about the Aussie '09 version being any different). It runs 0-60mph in 3.3s with LC / 3.9s without. LC overuse has f*cked up gearboxes and caused a warranty sh*tfight.

As a result, ALL the new '10 models won't have LC.

All I can say is I would not be happy laying down that much money for 286rwkw.

my mate works for hsv and he has driven one we he took it around the block he uped it abit but nothin over 4000rpm as it had no k's on it and he wasnt very happy with it but when it comes in for its serv he will make his mind up then about it as it will have sum k's on it

I wonder how much it would cost to buy an LS7 crate motor over the cost of an HSV Clubsport R8, or any other LS3 powered HSV. Would it be better worth your money to swap it yourself and sell the unused LS3? Let's not think about warranties. ;)

All I can say $150,000 for 286rwkw :idunno: .......no thankyou.

You keep forgetting that they arent actually laying down 150K for 286rwkw. The power has got nothing to do with these people are buying the car. They want a "rare" big beefy V8 that sounds a million bucks that very few others have.

Same reason that I'd buy an F40 over F430 / 599 or that people pay 500K+ for a Ford which probably gets spanked by an XT.

You cant keep saying "tune only FG would beat it", cause that's like saying, haybusa will chop 99% of street fords. Comparing apples to carrots
