Single turbo kits are around 7k drive in drive out intercooled s/c around 10k. Im sure there are better deals out there but that's what I have found in my itial investigation. Both kits will see you close to 400rwkw on a factory engine. Capa are actually doing drive away packages for the VE V8's at the moment which give you a brand new car, big rims, zorst and s/c for around the same price as what those things were selling for around 12 months ago. An LS with a big pipe and MASSIVE cam is one of the best engine notes! and that idle... :drewl:

HPF Performance is our business Member 192 Member For: 18y 8m 19d Posted 03/03/09 03:32 AM Share Posted 03/03/09 03:32 AM If that's the black vy ss ute your talken about, that's Tim.....great bloke he is... his gone through HPF to run that time. It's Tim's car, he is a good bloke and the work was done at HPF. It ran that time with a lazy 1.7 60ft so if Tim wanted to we could have easy smashed another 2-3 tenths of that with getting the car out of the hole better. Next time the car is out we should be able to drop seconds, not just tenths. must be added that the time was run on race fuel, not sure what it would run on PULP. Impressive though whichever way you look at it!Lets not forget that Chris from Bluepower's Boss also ran a 10.05@136 unopened stock motor. So do I think Fords are quick? Yep!The car was run on Sunoco race fuel, this is the safest way to keep the 10-1 compression engine alive with 15psi. No Boss engine has ever ran that fast unopened stock - period, Bluepower included. Its cheaper than what you might think to either turbo or s/c one of these cars. Single turbo kits are around 7k drive in drive out intercooled s/c around 10k. Im sure there are better deals out there but that's what I have found in my itial investigation. Both kits will see you close to 400rwkw on a factory engine. You will not find a current offer for a single turbo kit anywhere near that price, the kit alone with the Garrett GT4088 journal bearing turbo charger is 7k, not fitted, not landed. You still have to add injectors, map sensor, fuel pump, fitting, tuning, etc. Think 10k plus. Also, these entry kits are not going to give you 400kw at the wheels, think 330 - 350rwkw on an honest, not trying to sell you anything because I make it, dyno.Contrary to popular belief, 400kw at the wheels out of an LS1 is not as easy as having a poo! You will need at least 14psi of boost on a standard engine and 10-12 psi on a engine with upgraded cam and lower compression. The VE engine is a little easier.Regards,Matt
Guest Guests Posted 03/03/09 03:40 AM Share Posted 03/03/09 03:40 AM Well done to all involved Would still rather the Phoon though... Much more street friendly 400rwkw I think!
