The majority of the population are sheep, we listen to the biased media when it comes to Pauline and go baah baah not fair, not australian, racist, baah baah baah.

It is very easy to belive that she is a racist, yet I have never heard he say ANYHTING that IS racist, only the truth about other races.

I think she had all the good intentions of bringing the popular view into our political system, but was beaten to death by the politicians muck raking and the media's ability to discredit and miss quote her at every opportunity.

It was funny watching sunrise and hearing how much money she "made" for runnign for parlament last time. What the media failed to mention is that this is completely legal, all the other parties get the same and it also costs a lot of money to run for a seat. Again this was blatant mucjraking from the media.

It really annoys me that she is made out to be some deamon, racist and biggot, when infact she speaks the commonsence realistic opinion of the MAJORITY of australians.

I too would vote fo Pauline if she was running in my electorate.

Big call to suggest she voices the view of the majority of Australians, I would say maybe the majority of uneducated Australians who have no idea about the effects of her early proposed policies would have had on this country.

Commonsense you say or is it a simplified view of the world with no ability to see the true consequenses of her proposed policies.

Didnt she want to stop asian immigration at one stage - Yes I can see all those Asian countries continue trading with us if that happened.

not accepting refugees permanently - yep im sure the un would love that, not to mention the trade sanctions that would come with it

She is a moron, nothing more than a puppet who has lived past her use by date.

so she isnt racist hey???

On being elected to parliament, Hanson was quoted in the Australian as saying that she would fight for the interests of her electors -- but not for Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders.

Apparently she thinks Aboriginals have it better than the rest of us white australians

"Present governments are providing separatism in Australia by providing opportunities, land, moneys and facilities available only to Aboriginals ... I am fed up ... with the inequalities that are being promoted by the government and paid for by the taxpayer under the assumption that Aboriginals are the most disadvantaged people in Australia"

so is she saying they are not the most disadvantaged group in Aus I wonder if that is factual as you would expect from a pollie or is it just off the top of someones head so we will add some facts to dispute this claim

unemployment: 38% for indigenous men and 9% for non-indigenous

income less than $12,000: 64% of indigenous people and 45% for non-indigenous people

income over $35,000: 2% for indigenous people and 11% for non-indigenous people

infant mortality: two to three times that of other Australians

life expectancy: 18 to 20 years lower than other Australians

yep with stats like that how could we possibly not see how good our Aboriginals have it here in Aus

how about another quote

"Identifying as an Aboriginal has definite financial advantages, as Aboriginality allows them to claim a share of the booty of the native title scam as well as various other publicly funded perks not available to other Australians.” (Parliament, June 2, 1998)

In reality, there are only two areas where Aborigines are entitled to “special” benefits. Young Aborigines are eligible for a slightly higher Abstudy allowance when studying. ATSIC runs a home loan scheme allowing disadvantaged Aborigines to get loans fixed at 3% and 5% for the first year, increasing to a maximum of 8% -- similar to schemes run in a number of states for defence force personnel and for people on low incomes.

Other services such as the Aboriginal Legal Service and Aboriginal medical services are similar to specialist services for women, veterans, old people and disabled people.

“... extinguishment [of native title] should be extended to cover vacant crown land as well”. (Parliament, 1998)

Extinguishment is a directly racist policy: it specifically bans Aborigines from inheriting property rights from their ancestors, while other Australians are able to inherit far more extensive property rights from their ancestors

She has also made comments in regards to the tragedy that was allowing Aboriginals to vote, mmm that sounds racist to me

how about this one in regards to asian immigration

"My fear is that if we keep going the way that we're going ... the yellow race will rule the world, because they have a different culture. A different way of life.” (Bulletin, October 22, 1996)

yep that doesnt sound racist or uninformed at all does it?

“Australia should reject applications from ethnic-Chinese refugees who had been caught up in Indonesia's recent political crisis. We cannot bring people who are going to be a burden on our welfare system.” (Hanson, quoted in the Sydney Morning Herald, June 25, 1998)

Given that most refugees come from Third World and non-white countries, the ban on refugees gaining permanent residence is clearly designed to exclude non-whites.

also have heard several one nation members handing out how to vote cards were yelling racially motivated abuse at asian voters in the last qld elections.

If she is not racist why bring up alledged acts of cannibalism 200 years after the fact in an attempt to further her views that Aboriginals have no right to sovereignty and be viewed as savages

how about muslims she wanted to ban them migrating all together apparently for security and terrorism reasons

She seems to make alot of comments without any factual basis, she is an idiot, she is a racist and that about sums the idiot up.

If you dont think she is racist you havent read her policies in detail (not that they have much) they are all strongly directed at directly discriminating against non whites.

not in ANY way am I supporting pauline, infact I can't stand her like the majority of people however, of the stats you have just listed, non of them surprise me at all BUT

unemployment- how many of that 38% is from choice?? You try and tell someone that 38% of the aboriginal population is looking for work but can't find any and you will get laughed out of the country

does that income stats account for minors?

again, with the over 35000 wage, doesn't help when a 1/3 of the possible workforce is not looking for work.

infant mortality, might be because of the possible amount of child abuse that is "supposedly" rife in amongst aboriginal communities?

life expectancy- you die earlier when you do nothing but drink beer, smoke and eat when you don't work, regardless of your skin colour, nationality or race!!! it is a fact of life

DON"T get me wrong, I don't hate aboriginals, I have some mates who are aboriginal, and they are damn hard workers, damn loyal mates AND couldn't give two tosses about some lands claim, infact they try and distance themselves from all the crap as they find it downright embarrasing.

Pauline though has some stupid ideas and will sooner or later get herself killed if she doesn't give up and just leave the rest of the country alone.

Depends what is defined as choice, I spent 12 months in a community establishing a community bank and teaching the people of that community to run it so they were able to be self sufficient. They were able to allocate money to people for work in the community so no one got a free ride. In the time I was there I found the majority wanted to work and help in anyway they can but the majority of those people had very limited skills due to a lack of education or vocational training. So I would say the majority don't choose not to work but are placed in an environment not conducive to becoming a contributing member to the workforce.

I note your comment about your Aboriginal friends wanting to distance themselves from land claims and I believe in my experience allot of Aboriginals feel the same way. Some people view land claims as an easy grab for cash but I think the majority who support land claims are doing it for the right reasons and that is to get the community in touch with its roots and allow access to sites considered sacred or pivotal in the preservation of Aboriginal culture, and I see no problem and support that.

If you were to listen to Pauline land claims are a farce and are about making money, I wonder if anyone has any figures about how much money has been made through native title claims compared to claims on titles by whites reclaiming there property I.e.. disputed wills, disputed land sales etc its the same thing.

As for infant mortality I would suggest that has more to do with ineffectual and inaccessible health care for remote communities, as this has been identified as a human rights tragedy for many years by the UN and is a an absolute disgrace. Average life expectancy comes under this as well. Yes people drink and abuse drugs in every culture but to suggest that is the main reason is not looking at the complete picture, sure it doesn't help but then you have to ask yourself why this abuse is so prevalent in some communities and the answer is usually generations of neglect and discrimination that has led to the substance abuse issues in the past.

There are alot of misconceptions about Aboriginals and people like Pauline play on those naiveties I can assure you some of the communities id feel safer walking through than any Sydney street at night, yet if you ask Pauline they are cannibal savages that will eat you :)

Righto, I’ll give you a little nibble. You have contradicted yourself so many times it’s hilarious.

I.e....

So she shouldn’t drag up something that happened 200 years ago right? What about native title, when did all that come about? Stolen generation? Need I go on?

It's great that you are passionate, just a bit of a shame that your blinded by the rubbish spewed out by the media.

No I am not influenced by the media as I have lived with the people she is chastising

How is the cannibalism related to land claims?? It is not contradictory to question why she needs to bring up cannibalism in a debate over Aboriginals, as it has no relevance at all to any of the issues currently being faced. How that can be seen as a contradiction to someone wanting access to land they were forcibly removed from is beyond my realms of understanding.

So Cannibalism has no bearing on a debate about Aboriginals as it doesnt change the fact they have been disadvantaged and persecuted for the past 200 odd years.

So please lets continue the debate tab

You say I am blinded by the media but I have quoted Pauline making racist comments and policies aimed directly at discriminating against non whites.

You and others stated she wasnt racist and to look past the mdia hype and see what she has to say, So I did and posted direct quotes and policies presented by her that are clearly racist and discriminatory to non whites.

For a second generation Aussie she is very vocal against immigration,. if only they had kept her family out.

Actually after reviewing your previous posts its clear you are a racist yourself so there isnt much point debating it of you cant see yourself that way

heres a gem of wisdom from TAB

" but just thought I'd put it up to show what sick f*ckers those Japs are.

I realise that every culture is different, but this sh*t is unbelievable. Totally inhuman "

A mass generalisation being made about an entire race and culture because of the actions of a few = racist
