Pauline, should be commended for rising to the hieghts she has from her humble beginnings.

However, she is a tireless self promoter, and care`s little for anyone or thing bar her own ambition.

The only reason she is even in this election is to promote herself or current activity.

Today on radio, she refered to the opposition leader as Rob Borbidge..

Finger on the pulse there love, he`s been gone for eons..

Apparently a quality challenger for Pauline has emerged. Warwick Capper has thrown his name in the ring and lodged his name for the seat of Beaudesert. Warwick also said he is opening a coffee shop at Surfers called Warwick Cappucino. Im sure the residents there will feel like they are in good hands if Warwick is elected !!

Capper was on the radio, ABC reporter asked him who he`d give his preferences too, he said: Geez, I dunno.. that's a good question, who would you give `em too? "

His main advisor is Mark Jackson apparently.

I feel sorry for Beauy, they don`t need this sh!t..

Yeah I heard that. I was even willing to listen to what she said until she went off her rocker at what I thought where quite reasonable questions.

I personally believe she is only in it for the $$$ as I don't think they have fixed the loophole which netted her many thousands of dollars (I believe it was somewhere around the $300K mark) in the last election.

...the same "loophole" that applies to every single candidate, where they get a certain amount of $'s for every vote they receive to cover campaign expenses? :verysad:

IMO, a politician who can't even maintain some level of decorum when in such a (relatively) low pressure situation as a 5 minute interview on JJJ, is little more than an attention whoring joke.

She hung up on Kate O'Toole midway through the interview when probed about whether or not she stands by comments she made during her last political venture. It was a simple question and one that she will no doubt be grilled on many more times in the future if she perseveres with this political caper.

Love 'em or hate 'em, triple J interviews both Liberal and Labor politicians frequently and it's quite rare to hear one of them handle an interview as badly as she did.

Even if the interviewer is giving them a hard time (as the "Hack" reporters tend to do) you usually just hear a lot of double talk, question dodging and diversions... She just cracked the sh*ts, threatened to end the interview a couple of times, answered one more question and hung up...

If she's not qualified to handle a media interview or get her basic facts straight, she's barely qualified to run her own fish and chip shop, let alone our country.

Hell, speaking of qualifications, I'd probably prefer to vote for someone who managed to complete their high school education at least!

She's not dangerous, she's a f*ckin' assclown and deserves no more respect or admiration than any other two-bit, gimmick polly (ie. Warwick Capper).

She has become an absurd caricature of herself and regardless of her policies (some of which I think are at least partially valid), she will struggle to ever be taken seriously and rightfully so.

Having said all that, let her go for it. It's a free country and if underqualified, poorly educated, hyper-opinionated, chip fryers can't run for their local seat, then what has democracy come to?

:stupid:

Yes, but most candidates spend nearly all of their allowances (and many go well over thanks to donations and other income), as they actually want to win.

The loophole was that she was able to keep every cent even though the majority of it was not spent on campaign expenses. Typically when the gov't gives money you have to prove it was spent for it's intended purpose, with exception to election funding.

I just can't believe she is serious. Basically because the way she hasn't handled the media, if she was serious she would have gotten a media advisor to help coach her through those "difficult" questions that every reporter was going to ask. She would have already had answers for each of those questions pre-prepared, she would have had answers for just about anything else they could have thrown at her, and she wouldn't have become argumentative (unless she was good at arguing a point, which she was quite obviously not)

I personally know 3 different people who have stood in elections at one time or another, and 3 other people who directly worked on campaigns. Hey one year I was even roped into giving out those "how to vote cards", so I've seen the process fairly up close.
