As some of you may know I took out my Pod filter the other day and put back in the original airbox with a K&N filter and well I dunno what it's done but keeping a log book I reached 410km on a full tank, 60% city, 20% open road, 20% Flooring!

previous records with the pod filter showed me that I was only getting 350-370 km on a tank!

and no I havent changed my driving style at all!

Is this normal that it will get more km's off a tank of petty or am I just lucky?

Where was the pod filter sucking air from, directly from the engine bay or from outside in the cooler air.

engine bay so sucking warm air. I know that has a factor to do with it all but still increasing by nearly 70km's is great

absolutely you will gain even better results bolting the POD back on and enclosing it in a larger air box with a wicked cold air intake from either inside the front guard or the front of the front bumper

I really dont get the idea of a pod filter at all. You are way better off using a k&n panel filter in your air box rather than a pod! Only use a pod filter when you need an air filter where there is no space for a proper air box ie. in your front bumper.

What experience and testing do you base these claims on?

A pod filter has a greater surface area than a panel filter and as long as it is sealed and has a good cold air supply there is no reason it won't out perform any panel filter.
