C.e.s Exhaust - 36kw Gain

Ok first post - I'm not going to try and bullsh*t anyone I know very little about Ford XR6s and wouldn't be on here unless my best mate just bought one.

But what I do know a lot about is Japanese Turbo cars and the importance a well designed exhaust is for the success of any turbo application.

My basic question is has anyone on here tried out the C.E.S Racing exhaust for the XR6 Turbo?

The reason I ask is there seems be a lot of controversy with the Xforce systems and other than APS you poor bastards have a limited amount of choice when it comes to bolt an exhausts (something JDM cars have multiple options with) for the XR6 Turbo.

I would also like to note the Xforce exhaust in the JDM or Import community is also known as quite cheap and pretty below average as a total exhaust many people just use their CAT back systems with Japanese made front and dump pipe set ups.

Anyway as a Owner of a Nissan 200sx S15 and a previous owner of a MY00 WRX and R32 GTR I know of the absolute awesome quality of exhaust C.E.S design. The 3" system offered for my current car the S15 200sx had a 45kw atw improvement after one of their dump pipes were fitted.

Anyway I know they have a kit for the XR6 Turbo which they claim to have a 36kw improvement on a STOCK XR6 Turbo I just wanted to know if anyone has one or tried their system?

I have seen Dyno sheets of their system which do appear to have such an improvement and after personal experience on my JDM cars is a brand I highly recommend.

But just seeing if anyone off here has any actual real world experience with their system for the XR6 Turbo as I would like to recommend it to my friend. Or at least their twin dump pipe set up.

Ps. sorry for the really long thread.

I've got a 3.5" CES exhaust sitting in my lounge room just begging to be put on my car.

From what I've heard they're split dump pipe is supposed to be the shiznit.

Also curious about this...

Welcome dude! Have a read through the exhaust section of the forum and you will find info on what people are using to make a specific power etc...

I came from a 32 GTR myself a few years back, and in comparison to Imports, there are not as many options for aftermarket exhausts.

Things have changed over the past few years though, and now we do have a bit of a bigger selection to choose from.

The CES exhausts have a very good reputation for quality and workmanship. They are on the expensive side however.

It would be advise that you set a budget for the exhaust and a goal as far as the power you want to achieve!

SMB, Tunehouse, the soon to be released Nizpro 4", Di Fillipo, APS and Xforce are the common off the shelf exhausts that the majority of us will use.

Although Xforce do not have the best reputation in the JDM arena, there are enough people on here making very good power with their Xforce to warrant them as a decent option. They come in at the cheaper end of the scale and although the workmanship, quality and finish might not be as high as some of the more expensive systems they are a good system for the price. Plenty of people are making around 400rwkw with this system.

If you have more money to play with, I would recommend looking at the CES, SMB (I use the 4" SMB system), THR (made by Tunehouse - highest power street driven XR6T/F6 uses this system) and the soon to be released Nizpro system. They are a better built/quality system's than the Xforce, but expect the price to reflect that. You can obviously look into a custom system too!

Overall, you may find that the $1000 - $2000 you save purchasing an Xforce over a CES for example can be spent better elsewhere (cooler & intake or Fuel system etc), so it really depends what your wanting from your vehicle as to what might suit your application exhaust wise!

Good luck with it and let us know what you end up doing!

cheers guys for the links and advice

I probably should have done a search first.

Well I still drive a Nissan S15 200sx and wouldn't have it any other way, but my best mate owns a BF MKII XR6T and its pretty stock. Im pretty sure he comes on here just never posts.

I might advise him to go the CES dump pipe as that is their party piece, a metal cat and some other 4" cat back.

but will post up when it gets done

thanks again

I don't know about the CES system but I have an XForce 3.5inch with split dump. I did a dyno run before and after the exhaust was fitted. Without a tune I picked up 19rwkw. With tune, I picked up 35rwkw.
