I crunched some numbers - twin 3 inch pipes give a greater area than a single 4 inch pipe (hence more flow), and would be better for ground clearance?Your thoughts would be appreciated.Chris2007 BF MkIIEx ChaserStock as a rock - for now... Not too mention I don't think you'd get it up and over the rear axle/diff area. If you could dump it before the diff it has potential to flow a great deal, but it would be loud as all hell! I am planning my modifications for 600hp / 450kw - what would the optimum pipe size be? I don't want silly loud, but of course I need plenty of flow. SMB, THR & the soon to be released Nizpro exhaust spring to mind!A 3.5" system might get you there, but you will have less back pressure with the larger system and you should make the power with a little less boost! Guest Guests Posted 25/02/09 07:38 AM Share Posted 25/02/09 07:38 AM I run a full 4" SMB system mate & quality is second to none! They don't drone & on cruise the nise is similar to a twin 2.5" with high flow cat installed Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/54977-twin-3-exhaust/#findComment-830807 Share on other sites

Its a great exhaust system...Dont quote me on this, but your tuner may be able to get the system a little cheaper (trade price)... Might not happen though but it might be a good idea to ask.CES are another exhaust manufacturer in the same class as these others. Excellent reputation but im pretty sure they are also in the same price bracket, maybe more!
