a standard stall convertor will limit revs when stationary to 2000rpm.

my car at the strip with standard convertor and ET's still wouldnt budge 2000rpm. and I have always shifted manually, as I dont like my car clicking into 4th just as it crosses the finish line.

when I do a burnout when im using ET's, I get the wheels spinning in 1st, click 2nd gear and keep the wheels spinning for maybe 5 seconds if that, just so that theres a little bit of smoke comming off the tyres as you dont want your car getting super hot from doing a big burnout.

Well problem rectified. I put it down to the car being extremely hot because tonight it was spooling up really well and taking off nicely!!!!!!

Could have been my technique earlier on but I don't think so

that's a good idea. Last few times I've been at the drags I'll do a massive 20 second burnout to please the crowd and get the tyres mega sticky, however I did notice the thermo fan kicking in, so its probably warmed the motor up too much, giving me a worse quarter mile run hey?
