Still a GT though, the the G6ET (entire G series I guess) is completey new as far as insurance companies are concerned.

Got a cheque for $40 when I changed the policy over from the ute that was worth about a half of the value on paper.

Zap - your in sydney, mate go to a GIO Office, take a copy of the invoice which you paid for the car on with you.

AAMI are a pack of pricks anyways - so better off looking else where...

Allianz are not to bad - but make sure you get choice of repairer (mind you there are a lot of good 'authoed' Allianz repairers like Parra Smash anyways in the event of the sad happening)...

GIO have choice of repairer, and an ability to go 15% above whatever glasses guide rates the car value at...

LSV - prob wont touch it as its not a "Special Vehicle"

Elders - last time I check via my broker (who looks after out content and special risk items) dont look at 'ratings' to base the risk - and in turn will insure just about anyone, funny thing was they were the cheapest until I got the F6...

ING - is QBE as is a lot of other 'rebranded' insurance mobs... Along with Swann, and a few others...

I find GIO is about the best when you take into account under 30yo's, turbos, ice choice of repairer, hire car, windscreen and extra cover etc... Go agreed if you like but for the first 2 or 3 yrs whatever they say is the new car replacement doesnt make much difference as in the event of a write off the repair value would need to be around 70/75% of the total cars value - so if the crash is bad enough and say 50% of your agreed, then they repair, but if it had of been 75% of the market value then you prob would have gotten a new car out of it...

Make sense?

if the car is financed then ok better to go with the extra IMO - or get some sort of gap insurance...
