I jumped onto Red Book and they have the correct price for $78,190.The problem is they do not care what I say and give me the song and dance about going off the info they have at hand and that I cannot do anything.NRMA wanted $3650 for my policy, where my F6 is $1200. I told them to GAGF, until I found AAMI are a similar value $3050. This is where I discovered that they are all working from the wrong GT-E price.Does anyone know what I can do to get these insurance companies to realise the correct RRP for this car ? or a company that will listen. Guest Guests Posted 23/02/09 04:21 AM Share Posted 23/02/09 04:21 AM That sucks So by increasing your market value by approx 20% to an 'agreed' value of $78k, they warrant a 300% increase in premium?? What a joke! Insurance companies FTMFL & if I didn't have finance on part of the car I'd chuck my insurance in... Policies aren't worth wiping your arse with these days

They said they can only go by the guide.I called up Glasses and spoke to the person who does the valuations and he said that $64k was for a used car with 15-30,000km on the clock.I am on the phone to NRMA again and they have confirmed that their new car price listed is $64k, so I am waiting to speak to an underwriter to see if they will pull their blinkers off and correct the mistake.I hope this does not delay me getting my car tomorrow...... I'm with ING (no idea how good they are as I've not had to claim yet, touch wood) Insurance - the market value they've given me on my policy is the RRP, which happens to be $20k more than what I paid (Privilege Club pricing). No questions asked, I pay $13xx as a 27 y/o in a 'medium risk' suburb I guess.Maybe worth giving them a call? Call your insurer and ask to speak with supervisor might help.

After speaking to a very helpful person they admitted that they had the pricing wrong, but it would take some time to fix.Instead they gave me the maximum discount and the premium was dropped to $2400.I am still not happy and will call up a few places tomorrow. Atleast I now know why all the pricing was wrong.
