Guest Guests Posted 23/02/09 02:56 AM Share Posted 23/02/09 02:56 AM Don't bother with a cat back system, they don't increase power at all as the restriction is the cat. If you're just after a sound increase, remove the centre muffler & replace with straight through pipes or hotdogs...Same with CAI, don't bother with aftermarket jobbies as they are a waste in the most part. Just get a hold of a F6 2nd snorkel & it will flow fine Hope this helps.

levi Member 2 Member For: 16y 3m 6d Posted 15/03/09 02:24 AM Share Posted 15/03/09 02:24 AM I have 2005 ute. had a billet flywheel and 11" clutch fitted by Mal Wood in Warwick Qld. spose to handle 370kw at wheels so was my choice as only minor mods to rest of ute. had Genie exhaust fitted, standard dump pipe (this gives best torque) 3" fully stainless cat which splits into two of 2 1/2" pipes just before high flow muffler, continues to the back in the twin 2 1/2" pipes MINUS the rear muffler (no need for the restriction). nice deep rumble to note on idle, almost silent at 100km/hr windows up or down. No drone. drop from 6th to 4th and nice roar to note. As this exhaust let the turbo spool up very fast, she cut out at 5000rpm. drilled two of 2" holes into airbox and that fixed that problem. Now however it is running very lean as dyno run proved. 218kw at wheels. needs to be tuned to the injectors now. Programmers having bit of trouble cracking my computer but will achieve this sometime this week I told. Paramount Performance in Toowoomba Qld are doing the dyno tune, tell me the standard injectors will run to about 350 odd kw. I will get this done and get back here with chart proof if this claim is true. here's hoping. exhaust cost $1300, tune is $1200, flywheel/clutch cost$1500. if 350kw at wheels that will be well spent $4000 yeah
