I had my car put on vapour injection lpg last year by an installer that will remain nameless  and had issues right from the start ,

the car had deka injectors fitted and a 246rwkw extreme tune , the car would start and run on petrol then at 45degrees water temp swap to gas , no problems economy was great and every thing other than full thottle over 3500rpm it was great  but the gas system was leaning out in the top end and he couldnt sort it ,after countless return visits and watching him dynoing it still on the noise into the 15afrs :w00t2: ,so in an instant I had him take it of the dyno and I left quick smart , now extreme tunes my car never had an issue at all car ran faultless ,so after being told that the gas injectors were not compatable with dekas, tuner was telling me the inj pulse wasnt enough (as gas injectors piggy back the petrol intector pulse) I removed them and refited the std injectors and flashed it back to standard tune and reluctantly returned to the first tuner for a retune no luck ,car was better on gas but not fixed .

so after talking to some other intallers I turned up on the doorstep of force feed gas in jandakot owner has a 500rwhp twin turbo vy ute on straight gas

within 5 mins on road test he told me that the gas ecu wasnt recieving a map sensor signal they were booked for about two months so I waited for them to get a opening and in it went

I left car with him then got a phone call saying its all sorted ,told me they had to move position of injectors so that they were closer to manifold ,

and that one of the nozzles drilled into the manifold was partialy blocked,

on picking the car up it was the same to drive on gas as petrol ,on boost it was mint I even think its a bit smoother on lpg on boost

so im of to extremes for a retune on the std injectors ,then back for a retune on gas force fed recon 250rwkw is the limit of system so ill get simon to get as close as that , as it ran low 13,s with 246rwkws on a sh*t track ,so if I can get at least that again on lpg ill be rapt

so im of now to enjoy the rewards of walking out of bp only giving them a 18-22 dollar donation :roflmbo:

cost me $4800 and in wa you get a 3000 rebate

so $1800 out of my own pocket

was costing me about 65-75bucks per 380-420km

now its doing roughly 275-300km for 19-23 bucks all around town no freeway driving at all

so im puting 30-40 in the bank every 350ish kms

doing a 500km country run next month :gfight:

a bit of an update on the turbo taxi

had lpg tuned (force fed gas ) on the std tune loaded,

on picking the car up it was the same to drive on gas as petrol ,was mint I even think its a bit smoother on lpg on boost

so with the std tune loaded I took it to the drags 14.51@99 on petrol and 14.66@97on gas

so about a month ago went back to extremes to get it retuned(petrol) on the std injectors but had issues with the cat and then the std injectors just wouldnt flow enough :crybaby: ,so a new 100cpi cat was fitted to the std exhaust and after a bit of homework on simons part a set of new supercharged Late model camira injectors were fitted (36lb) same resistance as std injectors not to affect gas ecu ,and the car was tuned to 247rwkw again @11psi

a trip to drags it ran 13.37@106.5mph again (petrol)

so a road tune was done on the gas(force fed gas ) then a quick check on xtremes the dyno showed that it is still a lean top end (lpg) with a few big holes in the run .so im wating for the gas guy to be avail to book a session at extremes to dyno tune the car as it should be done

so nearly a year into the conversion and still not 100% sorted

im getting about 15.5lper 100km on gas on a country freeway run ,for the perth guys bunbury return 19bucks :beerchug:

and 17-18lper100km city driving, car made about 220rwkw on gas so about a 26 rwkw diference still not sorted can live with a slight power loss when its this cheap to run

still will run 13,s on lpg and be the same as an excell to run :stupid:
