Whats the performance meant to be like on an BA Xr6 turbo (standard 4spd, nothing done to it)? I find mine to be rather uninspiring. Should I expect some wheelspin if gunned off the line? I'm running BF XR 18 inch wheels, if that makes any difference. I've attempted to hand-time the 0-100 and only managed high 6's..

the problem with these cars are that they are deceptivly fast watch your speedo rather than waiting for wheel spin

and in stock form the ba is designed to take the power it makes so it's designed not to spin the wheels but take off like a rocket

Forgot to add.. in the wet she's a completely different beast. Had her above half throttle from take off, while turning.. and won't be trying that again.

Overall, seems there's a sweet-spot for boost between 1500rpm and 3500rpm. But anything above that or at WOT, no rushing boost noise you'd expect from boosted car.. maybe that's the result of car only running 6psi stock?

Motor Magazine tested 4 speed Auto 0-100ks 5.91 seconds & 14.1 400m back in July 2003.

Members of this forum subsequently have run as low as 13.6 seconds with factory everything.

Launch is important to a good time, don't stall it up and it will bog down, too much = smoke, balance

That said I have seen Dyno sheets from 160 - 195 rwkw for stock BA autos, which just highlights the variances

between cars and dynos.

A lot depends on the current mechanical state of your car , the number of Ks, maintenance etc.

Throw it on a dyno and see what its making.

stock nuggets can end up with far better improvements with a tune than a car with a better base figure.

No wheelspin with the stock 4spd BA off the line. If you want to get around the flat 6 second 0-100 you need to stall it up. They don't feel inspiring at all in stock form, but after and edit you'll be hanging on for dear life

The stock intake is an airbox / panel filter arrangement and thus they are quiet, you wont hear much spool to be honest.

If ya piss off the crossover and get a new intake kit with a pod, pump the boost by a few psi and you will certainly hear it spool lol!

Like most have said unless you stall it up you wont get any wheelspin is stock form.

That surprised me when I got mine. My old EL 6cyl Fairmont would lay lines easy as from takeoff.

But look at the speedo and you are flying along. They are fast but dont feel it if that makes sense.
