Greeting to all

We have just listed as a new member

We are about to take delivery next week of a XR6T Auto Ute in Perth.

Being an old Drag Racer from Wayyyyyyyyyyy back the need for speed has arisen again.

Looking for feed back from this group on various combo's for exhaust KW improvements.

I here comments made on changing to 3" single system with one or two

3" mufflers and and 3" Cat common.

Appreciate what you guys have found with actual Dyno proven results.

Note: not looking for any Noise increases if possible

Thank to all

Welcome to the forum.

First of all I must say that any exhaust mod to improve power will most definately increase noise. The cheapest upgrade you can perform on your new T will be to remove the centre muffler and install two straight pipes. This has been done and proven by the guys at zoom magazine to increase power approx 18hp.

Do not get a 3" single system because it'll be too small. The volume of the standard twin system is larger. If you want a full system nothing under 3.5".

Greetings WAturbo,

I have had a 3" stainless steel straight through system with hi-flo cat.

Got minimal power increase (5kwrw), but heaps more torque. Note is awesome too.

The 3.5" system obviously would be better but for the extra 1000 bucks could not justifiy it.

Although the 3" volume may be smaller than the standard system there are heaps less bends and curves which add to gas flow resistance.

The standard system is very good and if your not careful you could go backwards in power.

Give Don a ring at Perth Exhaust Centre (9361-3363) he is really helpful, and a wise old sage too

3" stainless from Turbo back, 2 straight through mufflers and high flow cat.

Note is awesome, and I agree with Silverhawk, the top end is not changed much, but mid-range is much better, and this shows up on the Dyno as well.

Cost was about $1,300 plus a couple of hours for fitting
